Race-by-race
Race 1: Racecourse Village Mdn Plate — 12:55, 1094m
Rewrite feels like the horse the race has to run past. He’s lightly raced (23-) and that’s exactly what you want in these early maiden sprints: upside, not battle scars. Freedman places them well here too, and he hits the frame more than half the time with his Eagle Farm runners when he’s got a proper sample size behind it.
From gate 7, D L Turner can slide across and keep him out of traffic. In a 1094m at Eagle Farm, I’d rather be a touch off them with clear air than buried on the fence praying for a run at the 200m.
The danger is Igotmymindonyou. The form line (5-2472) screams “honest” and barrier 3 is a great spot to either lead or sit right behind it. He’s had one go at Eagle Farm and placed, which is a nice note without getting carried away.

Race 2: Souths Sports Club Mdn Plate — 13:34, 1312m
Here’s the puzzle: do you trust the Gollan depth in a maiden, or do you take the horse with the soft run and the stable intent?
I’m siding with Delicious Derek (barrier 1) purely because this race looks like it can get messy for the wider drawn maidens, and inside gates at 1312m can turn “nearly” runs into “finally” runs if the rider holds a spot. C J Waller’s Eagle Farm record is strong enough to take seriously from volume, and Kyle Wilson-Taylor is a genuine operator here, hitting the frame in more than half his Eagle Farm rides.
The obvious danger is Ceretti. The form (3-524) says he’s around the mark, and Ben Thompson is the best “big track” jockey on the card by the numbers: 11 wins from 39 rides and he lands a place almost half the time. Ceretti’s only start at Eagle Farm resulted in a midfield finish, so I’m not leaning on that, but the rider booking is a green light.

The market problem in this BM68 is that it will probably price the recent winners very tightly, and I’m not sure it’s accounting properly for the one runner who’s already proven he can win at Eagle Farm.
Air We Go has two runs at this track for a win, and that’s enough for me to treat Eagle Farm as a positive rather than an unknown. His overall form (4-2196) says he’s had a proper prep with a peak in it, and he gets Jasper Franklin, who rides this course like he knows where the winning post is: 6 wins from 28 rides here and he lands a place every second trip.
Barrier 2 is a gift in a short dash. If he begins, Franklin can either hold a forward spot or take the sit and let others overdo it. The race should run at a solid clip with a few natural on-pacers engaged, and that’s when Air We Go’s ability to travel on the bridle matters.
The danger is Blakemore Avenue. The form (61-521) is rock solid and he’s a genuine winning type, even if he’s not proven at this specific track in the data we’ve got. Healy places them to win races, and this looks the right level.

Race 5: Sky Racing Plate (C3) — 15:19, 1750m
Two profiles collide here. Sir Winnie is the progressive type who keeps landing punches (441-31), and Piston Rebel looks like he’s been set for this sort of step-up (2313-2) with a rider booking that says “today matters”.
I’m with Sir Winnie. Gate 5 gives Angela Jones options, and while her raw Eagle Farm numbers aren’t spectacular, she’s experienced enough here to ride the 1750m properly. The bigger push is stable form at the track: R G Lipp has five runners’ worth of Eagle Farm evidence and wins one in five here, with two placings on top of that. That’s not a fluke sample, it’s a working edge.
