Race 3 No. 10 SANTASTICO ($5.50)
Murray Bridge trainer Matthew Seyers will be looking for consistency from SANTASTICO this prep. Showed promise on debut when leading them up in a metro race at Gawler over 1100m before finishing third. Seyers tipped Santastico out following the run and the horse was okay behind Kalasec when racing second-up over 1000 metres. Didn’t really live up to that early promise with Seyers giving him more time off since. Santastico looked to travel kindly on the speed during a recent trial in a good field. Did have to put up with one laying in on top of him for most of the straight.

Race 2 No. 2 MUFFLA ($4.25)
Gawler horseman Michael McClean will have MUFFLA ready to show his best as he sends the galloper to the South-East. Muffla has come through a couple of strong races since resuming. He did run on okay when getting back behind Pivotal Force over 1200m first-up at home. Similar again behind Allusion when McClean stepped him out over the mile at Murray Bridge last start. Muffla wasn’t beaten far in either of those races and has drawn for a kind run under Sairyn Fawke at his third run back. Muffla does also typically improve into his preps with McClean finding a thin race for his relatively new acquisition.

Race 1 No. 7 FAIR GO FIONA ($12.20)
We did note the run of FAIR GO FIONA who was jagged back from her wide gate here last start. Horsham trainer Stephen Lenehan had brought the mare right back to 1210 metres in a race where they ran time. Fair Go Fiona had settled by the tail of a strung-out field before making notable ground out wide. That was on a deep rain affected track and it will be interesting to see how Fair Go Fiona goes while racing on top of the ground. Lenehan has found a thin maiden for her out to 1550 metres, and we’ll make the lightly raced mare our Value/Roughie Bet for the day.
