BEST BET 🏆 (WIN)

Race 4 No. 8 DUVACH- ($1.85)

Best bet comes up in Race 4 and it is DUVACH that can chalk up her first career win. The Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr-trained galloper has had the two career runs and was 3rd on debut at Echuca back in 2022 before returning off a long break and just missing out over the 1400m on the Pakenham Synthetic on July 9. She was first up after almost a year off and settled handy and hitting the lead at the 200m, looking the winner before being run down in the shadows by Alfieri. The daughter of Savabeel should improve off that hit out and gets the run of the race from barrier 3 with Celine Gaudray to ride.

Race 5 No 10 DUNLOE- ($3.85)

Liked the way that DUNLOE hit the line at his first career start and think that the Ben & JD Hayes-trained galloper can measure up here. His debut came at Pakenham over the 1100m and he was towards the rear early on in the 1100m affair in a race where they crawled. The son of Fastnet Rock was never in the hunt in the straight but did produce the fastest last 200m. Step up to the 1400m should suit and he just needs an even tempo or better to fire.

Race 7 No. 1 DIESEL ’N’ DUST- ($3.65)

Going back for more on DIESEL ’N’ DUST in Race 7. The five-year-old has done the job for us in recent times and loves the surface, winning his past two, which have been at the track and trip. The Jason Warren-trained galloper won in this grade two starts ago before hanging on to score on June 26, despite being posted four wide and without cover throughout. The five-year-old comes into this third up and with a month between runs. He has won four times at the track and trip from seven starts and has placed in the other three. Look for him to be in it for a long way.
