Race 1 No. 1 RISE AT DAWN- ($1.85)
RISE AT DAWN should be hard to beat in the opener, which is for the two-year-olds. The Ben & JD Hayes-trained galloper has had the one career start, stepping out at Werribee on July 9 and clearing away to win by more than three lengths from Balgowan. The son of Almanzor went a very healthy 6.7 lengths faster than standard benchmark and looked to have a bit in reserve. He draws barrier 4 for this assignment with Daniel Stackhouse sticking on board. He strikes at 29% for the stable, providing a 61% profit on turnover for punters.

Race 8 No 8 RHEINBERG- ($1.90)
Going with RHEINBERG in the final race of the day. Another form the Hayes camp, the four-year-old could hardly have been more impressive winning at Sale when resuming, scoring by four lengths from Roc De Russian, while there was another three lengths back to the 3rd horse. He was solid over the summer months at Sandown, winning one and finishing runner-up in two of his three starts, including one behind British Columbia. Improvement to come with fitness at his second run and Stackhouse can push across from the barrier early on.

Race 3 No. 6 BOTANY- ($3.40)
BOTANY can go one spot better than a last start effort that saw her finish runner-up behind Hard Squeeze at the track and trip on July 5. The Peter Moody-trained mare settled up front that day and took over in the straight before just going down in the last 50m, putting a bit of a gap on the rest. She meets the winner 1kg better at the weights and should be right on top of her game at her second go over the distance.
