Overview
Chris Parnham rode three winners at Ascot on 10 October: Truly Loyal, Streamlined and Abissi. All three are back today with Parnham aboard, all trained by Michael Grantham, and all running in similar races to the ones they won. That is the thread running through this card. Two weeks ago the form was good enough to win here. The question now is whether they can win again after rising in the weights.
It’s a ten-race program on a track the site rates Good, running from an 11:44AM 2yo plate to a 1400m BM72+ at 5:37PM, with the Belgravia Stakes for three-year-olds as the second-last race. No scratchings were showing when this was written. These Ascot racing tips give a pick and a staking line for every race, then the plays, and plenty of the selections are horses that already know how to win around here.
What Ascot gives us today
The course form runs deep at this meeting. These runners have five or more starts at Ascot:
| Horse | Runs | Wins | Places | Win% | Place% |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ripper Farooq | 6 | 0 | 5 | 0% | 83% |
| Fancy Red | 6 | 1 | 4 | 17% | 67% |
| Kings Court | 5 | 3 | 3 | 60% | 60% |
| Boy Crush | 5 | 1 | 3 | 20% | 60% |
| Black Ora | 5 | 1 | 3 | 20% | 60% |
| He’s A Machino | 5 | 1 | 3 | 20% | 60% |
| Famous Dain | 6 | 1 | 3 | 17% | 50% |
| Classic Impact | 6 | 1 | 3 | 17% | 50% |
Kings Court‘s three wins from five is the standout, though he was beaten last start by a horse he meets again in Race 7. Ripper Farooq hits the frame a lot here, but his record is all placings and no wins.
| Jockey | Runs | Wins | Places | Win% | Place% |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Chris Parnham | 108 | 23 | 51 | 21% | 47% |
| Lucy Fiore | 133 | 30 | 62 | 23% | 47% |
| B Parnham | 125 | 16 | 47 | 13% | 38% |
| Holly Nottle | 148 | 17 | 54 | 11% | 36% |
| Jarrad Noske | 33 | 3 | 11 | 9% | 33% |
| C Johnston-Porter | 116 | 8 | 38 | 7% | 33% |
| Natika Riordan | 62 | 7 | 19 | 11% | 31% |
Lucy Fiore has ridden the most Ascot winners among today’s jockeys, and Chris Parnham matches her place rate from fewer rides.
| Trainer | Runs | Wins | Places | Win% | Place% |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| C & M Gangemi | 44 | 6 | 22 | 14% | 50% |
| Mitchell Pateman | 43 | 10 | 21 | 23% | 49% |
| D L Morton | 73 | 12 | 34 | 16% | 47% |
| Luke Fernie | 58 | 9 | 25 | 16% | 43% |
| A G Durrant | 88 | 6 | 37 | 7% | 42% |
| T M Andrews | 36 | 7 | 15 | 19% | 42% |
| Michael Grantham | 49 | 12 | 20 | 24% | 41% |
Grantham’s 12 wins from 49 Ascot runners is the best strike rate in the table, which fits with what happened on 10 October.

Ascot predictions, race by race
Race 1: Morley Growers Market Plate, 11:44AM, 1000m
Albirex won on debut here over this trip on 10 October at 12/1, so the market clearly wasn’t expecting it. Lucy Fiore rode that day and stays on. The penalty is 58kg, the most in the field, but none of the rivals has shown the same level yet. Malastar ran second on debut and drops to 54kg with Holly Watson, which makes Malastar the danger if Albirex struggles with the weight.
Albirex to win.
Race 2: Tabtouch – Westspeed Platinum Series Heat 1 (Rs0ly), 12:24PM, 1200m
So Si God hasn’t missed a place in five runs in the past 90 days. That includes second here over 1400m on 10 October and second in a Westspeed Platinum race at Belmont in September. He has won once from three Ascot starts and placed in all of them, and Chris Parnham stays aboard. The weakness is that he has run second a lot without winning, and that is what makes him an each-way bet rather than a win bet.
Quick Cookie is the improver. He won at Northam on 15 October, ran second there before that, and has two wins from four in the past 90 days. If he brings that form to the city, he’s the one most likely to beat So Si God. Ripper Farooq has placed five times from six here and could fill a place again.
Each-way on So Si God.
Race 3: Pkf Perth (Bm66+), 1:04PM, 1000m
Two wins in a row at Kalgoorlie and Northam have Last Stylebender coming to town in form. He won the Kalgoorlie race on 3 October at 15/2, he has two wins and four placings from four starts in the past 90 days, and his only Ascot start was a win. Holly Nottle rides for Mitchell Pateman, a stable that wins with nearly a quarter of its Ascot runners.
Niccimota has placed in three of four runs in the past 90 days without winning, so is the obvious place hope. Pingers has a win in the past 90 days and could take advantage if Last Stylebender is caught wide from gate 9.
Last Stylebender to win.
Race 4: Brent Maas (Rs1mw), 1:50PM, 1800m
Streamlined won a Rs1mw here over 1600m on 10 October at 4/1, and today’s race is the same conditions over 200m further. He has won two of his three starts in the past 90 days and finished third in the other, so his form has been consistent. Chris Parnham keeps the ride.
More Than Enuff is the one to beat. He has one win from two Ascot starts, placed in both, and has won once in the past 90 days, but carries 59.5kg to Streamlined‘s 58kg. Classic Impact, with a win and three placings from six Ascot runs, could run on late at 51kg.
Streamlined to win.
Race 5: MC Equine Surfaces (Rs0ly), 2:34PM, 1600m
Javelin Strike has won his last two, at Northam on 4 October and here over 1400m on 14 October with Lucy Fiore. He steps up to 1600m today. He has run at Ascot twice for a win and a placing, and Fiore stays on.
The extra trip is the question, and Rogue Ruler is the horse who could take advantage. The three-year-old has placed in all four runs in the past 90 days, and at 54kg he gets a lot of weight from the older horses. Ocean Goddess won at Northam in August and has placed in all three runs in the window.
Javelin Strike to win, with Rogue Ruler in the exacta.
Race 6: Peters Investments (Bm66+), 3:15PM, 2200m
Abissi is the second of Parnham’s 10 October winners on this card. He won a BM66+ over this exact trip that day at 29/20. Before that he ran second at Kalgoorlie and third over 2200m at Belmont, so he has run well at this distance.
I Love Ya Money is a strong danger. He ran second here over 1800m on 17 October and won a Westspeed Platinum race at Belmont at 7/1 in September. He has placed four times from five runs in the past 90 days. Consolidated won over 2200m at Bunbury on 7 October and has also won at Pinjarra in the window. Miss Veuve has earned more prize money in the past 90 days than anyone else in the race.
Abissi to win, with a saver on I Love Ya Money.
Race 7: Guinness (Bm78+), 3:50PM, 1000m
Bassett Hound and Kings Court met over this distance on 10 October. Bassett Hound won at 5/4 and Kings Court finished fourth. Bassett Hound has won two of four Ascot starts and placed three times, and P Carbery rides again. With 54.5kg in a sprint, he’s the one to beat.
Kings Court‘s three wins from five here deserve respect, and he could turn the result around with a better run. Now You See Me has form figures of 8-11111, with the recent wins at Broome, including the Broome Sprint in August. How that form holds up at Ascot, with just 51.5kg, is the big unknown in the race. Santanova has two wins from three Ascot starts.
Bassett Hound to win.
Race 8: Coppers Irish Night Club (Rs1mw), 4:26PM, 1200m
This is a harder race to call. Rok ‘N’ Rom ran second in a Rs1mw over this distance here on 10 October at 9/1, and he has a win and two placings from three Ascot starts. The three-year-old has 54.5kg, with S Parnham taking over.
Science Degree has been running well at Kalgoorlie: second, second, a win and a third in his last four. Morning Thunder won on his only Ascot start but has no recorded run in the past 90 days, so he comes into this fresh.
Small each-way on Rok ‘N’ Rom.
Race 9: Liquor Barons – Belgravia Stakes, 5:02PM, 1200m
Big Red Zoom has won both his starts in the past 90 days. He won at Bunbury in August, then won over 1000m here on 10 October at 10/1, which seemed too generous for an unbeaten horse. Holly Watson rides again for Mitchell Pateman, and 57kg is fair for what he has done.
Beatty is the main danger and the class runner. He has form figures of 11-121, two wins from three Ascot starts, and carries 59kg as top weight, but has no run in the past 90 days. Pistone, Pateman’s second runner, won at Bunbury and ran second at Belmont, so he brings solid form as well.
Big Red Zoom to win.
Race 10: Johnny Fox’s (Bm72+), 5:37PM, 1400m
Truly Loyal is the best bet at Ascot. He has won three of his four starts in the past 90 days and finished second in the other. The latest win was a BM66+ over this distance here on 10 October, with Chris Parnham riding. The step up to BM72+ is a small one, and he carries only 54.5kg.
Westbound, from the same stable, won the Aquanita Stakes at Belmont over 2000m in July and has a win from two Ascot starts, but he hasn’t raced in the past 90 days and drops back to 1400m. Fancy Red has placed four times from six runs here and is the place threat. Too Darn Stormy has won one and placed in three of four in the window.
Truly Loyal to win. Strongest bet of the day.

Where the money goes
NAP: Truly Loyal (Race 10, 5:37PM). Three wins from four starts in the past 90 days and a winner over this course and distance a fortnight ago, now meeting a field that is barely any stronger.
Value: Big Red Zoom (Race 9, 5:02PM). The market let him go at 10/1 when he won here last start, and he’s still unbeaten in the window. He’s worth backing again.
Banker: Bassett Hound (Race 7, 3:50PM). He already beat Kings Court over this trip and gets the same rider. He’s the most reliable multi leg on the card.
Each-way: So Si God (Race 2, 12:24PM). He has placed in all five runs in the past 90 days and in all three of his Ascot starts.
Course angle: Chris Parnham riding for Michael Grantham. They combined for three winners here on 10 October and bring Streamlined, Abissi and Truly Loyal back to similar races.
If the Grantham and Parnham horses win again, it will be worth following them at Ascot for the rest of the spring.
