BEST BET 🏆
Race 5 No. 4 SNOWDOME – ($2.35)
Neville Parnham found that forward showing from his promising 3yo SNOWDOME as he stepped him back in class last start. Punters started Snowdome as an easing favourite off his short opening quote when racing first-up the start prior. This was off the back of a winning trial following a prep where the stable stepped him out in trip against the state’s premier 3yo group. We felt the 1200m on resumption may find Snowdome out given how softly he won that trial and chose a different path for that race. It mattered little as Snowdome missed the kick and was forced into an awkward position off an even tempo. We Parnham brought him back in both class and trip which saw Snowdome get the job done. Keeps him to the 1000 metres and we’ll be respecting the class 3yo off an inside draw.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 7 No. 9 WILEY GIRL – ($9)
We backed Krysanova to score on debut and the run of the second horse WILEY GIRL impressed us also. Krysanova led with no real pressure and was able to get Wiley Girl off the bit prior to straightening. Wiley Girl built into her stride up the straight while finding the winner too sharp over the 1000 metres. Improved considerably at her next run when following the speed out to 1200 metres. They went fast and Wiley Girl was able to build into the race far more comfortably. She shouldered into the clear on straightening to explode away. She quickened off that good tempo to set a fast time to the day.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 4 No. 9 GHOBELLA – ($10)
Stephanie Bakranich tipped GHOBELLA out in top form, having won both of her last two starts last prep. Both of those runs were over this track and trip with Ghobella impressive in running sharp times. She had a couple of trials enroute to the track for this prep before Backranich sent her out over the mile. Ghobella comes through the good form reference races behind Mountain Ash who has simply run fields off their legs. She was held-up for clear running approaching the turn, and again on straightening first-up. She finished off okay that day and then put in a bit of a flat run last start. Ready to improve out the 1800 metres at her third run back and will be finishing harder than most.
