Race 6 No. 2 DENNIS CHOUX- ($2.70)

Zephen Johnston-Porter finds a real opportunity to win a midweek in town aboard DENNIS CHOUX who is gunning for three straight wins since resuming this prep. Trainer David Harrison has opted for the claim as his horse continues to rise through the handicap ratings. Dennis Choux was slow to find his feet before Paul Harvey threaded his way through the field first-up over 1000 metres on the Scarpside. The pair raced to the front shortly before the line to claim an unlikely last-to-first victory. Harvey gave him the run of the race with Dennis Choux proving too strong at his next start over 1200 metres. Gave every indication that he’ll run out the 1400 metres last time and gets in well with the claim.

Race 4 No. 1 BIGDAYONIT – ($4.80)

Ashley Maley calls for senior jockey Michael Poy to ride BIGDAYONIT who will be fitter for two runs back. Apprentice Madi Derrick has allowed the horse to roll along in front as per his usual style with Bigdayonit running second in both runs. The pair were never going to be able to match smart up-and-coming sprinter Esprit Garcon over 1200 metres first-up. Bigdayonit still battled strongly to hold all else out to the line. Went to 1400 metres second-up when the pair gave a kick on straightening before peaking on their run deep inside the furlong. Bigdayonit comes back to the 1200 metres third-up while having the pace to make use of his inside gate.

Race 7 No. 3 FIOREYES – ($10)

We’ll back last-start maiden winner FIOREYES to overcome a wide gate in the get out as we search for our each-way roughie bet. A poor getaway saw Chris Parnham drop the hands and settle his mount at the tail of the field over this trip last time. The horse usually bounds forward in his races and we’re not sure what to expect at Belmont Racecourse on Wednesday. Parnham brought Fioreyes into the race on turning before using that big stride to come right away from the others inside the furlong.
