BEST BET 🏆

Race 7 No. 7 BADONKIDONK – ($3.80)

Telopea Downs trainer Darryl Dodson has BADONKIDONK set to take the Cup on his home track. Kayla Crowther was caught napping when she found herself as an unexpected leader on Badonkidonk at Naracoorte two starts ago. Hasta La Prince ran on by to open a winning break while Kayla kept the field stacked off a slow tempo. Badonkidonk rallied into the straight to no avail as the bird had already flown. Dodson very nearly pulled off a big win in town when Badonkidonk couldn’t quite nail Punchin on the line. Made amends when winning with Crowther back in the saddle at Murray Bridge next start. Drops 5kg and will likely roll somewhere forward again.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 6 No.1 BIG OPTION – ($4)

James & Lisa Dodgson have found some form with home track specialist BIG OPTION. Jarrod Lorensini rolled forward on the horse for a tough on-speed win over 1200m at Horsham last recently. We were surprised when Lorensini did not force the issue with Big Option over this track and trip two starts ago. The horse did run well under the big weight without being able to rein in the leader. The stable had given Big Option a let-up prior to last start when he wasn’t beaten far in town. They’ve gone for the claim now with Nichola Yuen who would be expected to push forward in a positive ride on the horse.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 8 No. 8 JURA MAC – ($14)

The flashy grey mare JURA MAC showed terrific gate speed to lead all the way over this track and distance earlier this year. She was racing against a handy Class One field which would stack up against this field on Sunday. Jura Mac landed that win here while coming straight out of maiden grade with Nicole Irwin sending her for a spell shortly after. Jura Mac will be fitter for two runs back this time in which were against a much harder grade. She had been trapped wide without cover and will pay to forgive that first-up run. Would think that Alice Lindsay won’t have much trouble rolling forward from the gate to give Jura Mac a great run in the race.
