Caulfield Tips 26/11/2022

BEST BET 🏆

Race 8 No. 13 SEE YOU IN HEAVEN- ($3.70)

The Sandown Guineas is one of the highlights at Caulfield on Saturday and SEE YOU IN HEAVEN can show up the boys in the Group 2 affair. One of four fillies in the race, the South Australian galloper has been excellent in her three runs in Melbourne this spring without much luck. She copped a bump and was pushed wide when a two length 7th over the 1200m at Caulfield on Guineas day before stepping out at Flemington over the carnival and running 3rd in the Desirable Stakes (1400m). The daughter of Divine Prophet was near to last at the turn then copped plenty of traffic in the straight on that occasion. Step up to the 1600m looks perfect and she should be hard to hold out late in the piece.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 6 No. 1 GRANDSLAM- ($3.60)

Keen on GRANDSLAM in the Eclipse Stakes. The Maher/Eustace galloper was scratched from the Ballarat Cup on raceday last weekend due to the deteriorating track and likes Caulfield, while he is normally pretty solid early on in his campaigns. The five-year-old has had one start this preparation for a 3rd behind Winning Partner over the 1500m at Moonee Valley and he went 7.7 lengths faster than standard benchmark. He gets out to the 1800m and is likely to to improve second up. The month in between runs has been a recipe that has worked in the past, while he should enjoy a nice time of it from barrier 3 with Craig Williams on board.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 7 No. 1 VOW AND DECLARE- ($5.50)

This might be the one for the 2019 Melbourne Cup (3200m) winner, VOW AND DECLARE, to snap the drought. The seven-year-old has not won since claiming the race that stops the nation three years ago but has been excellent this spring with some close up performances in a number of big races, including the Caulfield Cup (2400m) in October when landing within two lengths of Durston in 6th position. He was 3rd behind the eventual Melbourne Cup placegetter, High Emocean, earlier on and had form around Lunar Flare prior to that. The Danny O’Brien-trained galloper drops in trip after running 10th in the Cup. Runners that come out of the first Tuesday in November have an excellent record in this race, while the weight-for-age conditions should suit against this lot.

Best Value 💰(EACH-WAY)

Race 3 No. 3 YULONG COMMAND- ($10)

YULONG COMMAND should just about be ready to fire when he steps out in Race 3. The Anthony & Sam Freedman-trained galloper battled when he couldn’t find the lead when resuming at Moonee Valley then was in it for a long way down the Flemington Straight on Oaks Day over the 1000m before just fading late behind Joyful Fortune and Zoustyle. He went 4.4 lengths faster than standard and in this race last year the son of Written Tycoon produced a peak figure third up when going 11 lengths faster than standard, finishing 3rd. He will look to cross from barrier 9 and should be in it for a long way.
