BEST BET 🏆

Race 3:  No.3  PRESS LIGHTLY  ($5 with TAB)

The Robert Agnew-trained PRESS LIGHTLY is yet to miss a podium finish in her four race starts to date and looks set to keep that trend going today. Last start, the Press Statement filly broke through for her Maiden win when she finished best at Port Macquarie over 1200m trip. She ran her last 600m, half a length quicker than benchmark, the best last start effort here and posted the fastest final 400m and 200m sectionals as well. Ben Looker has been with her for her past two runs and remains in the saddle today. She looks a promising type with plenty of upside and lines up here a definite winning chance at good odds.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 8:  No.6  SASSY CHOICE  ($6 with Ladbrokes)

The Port Macquarie-based galloper SASSY CHOICE boasts a strong second-up record and looks well placed here to produce another strong performance today. Last start, the Choisir mare was fresh off a 15-week break where she travelled wide most of the way and wasn’t disgraced when finishing fifth is a Class 3 Hcp, here over 1200m. Beaten just 1.5 lengths on the line, she covered her last 600m, 2 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best here by more than 3 lengths. Yet to find the podium in two starts on this track, her second-up efforts are solid with a win and two minor placings from three pervious efforts on her resume. Ideally drawn in gate two, she is more than capable of giving this contest a real shake and taking home the bacon today.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 6:  No.9  CONTINUUM  ($6 with Palmerbet)

Local galloper CONTINUUM is second-up here and looks well placed for back-to-back victories today. Last start, the Time For War mare came off a 12-week spell and on fresh legs, held on for a good win in a BM58 Hcp, here over 800m. She ran the trip out, 5.9 lengths slower than benchmark, still the best last-start effort in this field. Brooke Stower has steered her to five podium finishes from as many rides (including both career wins) and sticks by the mare for this contest. Placed twice when second-up previously, she is drawn nicely here in gate four she boasts three top-two finishes from her four starts at the track and looks right in this contest.
