Cranbourne Tips 03/05/2024

Multi Anchor ⚓

Race 5 No. 1 BERKSHIRE BREEZE- ($1.72)

It was a promising first up effort by BERKSHIRE BREEZE over the 2000m at Caulfield on April 6 and the Ciaron Maher-trained galloper can go one spot better in Race 5 of the evening. At Caulfield, the five-year-old was stepping out for his first run since November last year and led them up before just going down late. He went a healthy 7.5 lengths faster than standard, which is the best last start figure of any runner. Cranbourne should suit and he will be hard to beat.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 4 No. 3 SABAN- ($2.20)

This should be an easy kill for SABAN. The Peter Moody & Katherine Coleman-trained galloper ran on to fill the exacta at Sandown two starts ago before tackling the Listed Port Adelaide Stakes (1800m) art Morphettville on April 13 and finishing a very respectable 4th behind the likes of Air Assault, Warmonger and Bold Soul. The last two of those are among the favoured runners for the Group 1 South Australian Derby (2500m) on Saturday. This is a decent drop in class for the son of Shamus Award and he might look to cross over early on from barrier 10.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 8 No.2 LANG PARK- ($3.60)

LANG PARK creates interest in the final race of the evening. The Patrick Payne-trained galloper has had the seven career starts for three wins and resumes on Friday. He was excellent early on at his last preparation when just missing out as the exacta horse behind Joltin’ Joe when resuming at Moonee Valley over he 1200m before heading to Sandown and claiming a BenchMark 64 in solid time at Sandown over the 1300m. The four-year-old has had one start at the track for a win.
