BEST BET 🏆
Race 8: No.9 BLESSTAS
Annabel Neasham’s filly, BLESSTAS has her second start today and looks well placed to remain unbeaten after this contest. Last start, the daughter of The Autumn Sun made her racing debut on this track with Damien Thornton aboard and came from third-last in the 12-strong field to arrive in time and grab victory right on the line in the 1400m Maiden. She drew gate 11 that day and caught the eye with such a strong debut performance. The step-up to the mile here looks ideal, based on her debut run. Thornton sticks with her today as she draws to do very little early work from gate four. Wearing winkers today, she can only strip fitter and should prove hard to hold out here.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 6: No.6 WRITTLE
The Lindsay Hatch-trained WRITTLE has come back in great shape and second-up today looks set for back-to-back success here. Last start, the Written Tycoon gelding returned to racing after six months in the paddock and on fresh legs, finished fast to grab victory in a BM58, here over 860m. Justin Huxtable has the reins today where the six-year-old gets the dream draw and jumps from gate two and maps to settle behind the wealth of early speed here. You’re only as good as your last start they say which should see this fellow right up there at the finish.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 7: No.12 THEGIRLSGOTTHIS
Tony Gollan saddles-up THEGIRLSGOTTHIS here who is second-up and will be out to remain unbeaten at the track today. Last start, the Headwater mare resumed off a six-month break when she took on a Class 2 Hcp over 1100m at Beaudesert on a Heavy 8 and wasn’t disgraced finishing mid-field, beaten less than three lengths in the run home. Angela Jones returns for this assignment at a more suitable distance for the mare. She is two from two at the track and distance and fitter for that first-up run, she will take beating here today and well worth an each-way ticket.
