BEST BET 🏆

Race 8:  No.3  TIZSO FAB

Local trainer, Donna Scott saddles-up TIZSO FAB here who is having his third start for a new stable and off a short (seven-day) back-up, looks well placed to give this contest a real shake. Last start, the Astern gelding drew the carpark (gate 12 of 13) and was never on the track when he did a mighty job claiming fifth spot in a BM58 over 1300m at Wagga. Lumping 61.5kgs and covering all that extra ground, he did well to finish as close as he did that day. He should find the job a lot easier today as he leaves the barrier from gate four and has Nick Heywood as the new pilot. Meeting similar company on better terms today, he looks right in mix here.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 4:  No.4  BOX OF CRACKERS

The Kerry Weir-trained BOX OF CRACKERS is in great touch this time in and looks more than capable of serving it up to the more fancied runners in this contest. Last start, the Spirit Of Boom mare was second-up and ready to rock as she led from barrier to box and broke through for her maiden win over 1200m at Wagga. She set a solid pace and ran them ragged, winning by more than a length on the line. Class 1 company is on the menu today as she drops in weight and has a new pilot with Jack Martin legged aboard for his first ride on the four-year-old. Placed here previously, she draws well in gate five today and after three runs back, should be at her peak now. A trouble-free run here should see her throw down the gauntlet to this field.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 5:  No.2  ZIPITALIST

Locally-trained by Mitch Beer, ZIPITALIST has a resume that says dry tracks only for me and today his wish is granted, putting him right in the mix for a win here. Last start, the Capitalist gelding had no luck at Goulburn where he was trapped wide most of the way but still managed to grab third prize in the Class 1 event over 1000m. Jack Marting was aboard that day and sticks with the three-year-old for this assignment. The barrier gods have blessed him here as he jumps from gate one and maps to settle in the first half-dozen with cover. A softer run today could lead to his second career-win.
