BEST BET 🏆

Race 3:  No.3  MAJESTIC STYLE  ($3.05 with BoomBet)

The Paul Perry-trained MAJESTIC STYLE is third-up today and ticks all the boxes for a repeat performance of her last effort. The Vadamos mare was having her second start for the Perry stable as she lined-up in a Class 1 Hcp, here over 1600m, where she settled near last, six off the pace. Ridden a treat by Tom Sherry, he balanced her up on straightening and then asked her for a final effort where she duly obliged, passing them all and crossing the line more than a length in front of them, in a canter. She steps-up in trip today but has won over 1850m previously. Already a winner when third-up, she is now a Gosford success as well and Sherry sticks with her today. The scene looks set for an encore performance here.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 1:  No.3  INVINCIBLE SPY  ($2.45 with Bet Right)

The three-year-old newcomer INVINCIBLE SPY was impressive on debut and looks well placed here to remain unbeaten and go back-to-back today. Last start, the I Am Invincible colt opened his account at Newcastle with a win in a 1400m Maiden Hcp with Tim Clark in the saddle. Leading from barrier to box, he was challenged in the run home by Kenology, but held him at bay and had plenty left as the pair of them put three lengths on the rest of the field. He can only improve on that run and fitter today, looks well in contention for another win with Clark remaining abord for the contest.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 8:  No.1  CECILIA  ($13.20 with BoomBet)

She carries topweight today but Newcastle galloper CECILIA boasts a very strong second-up record and could surprise at odds today. Last start, the Darci Brahma mare was impressive when first-up at Taree when unwanted in the market ($31), she almost ‘stole’ the race but was grabbed late by swoopers and had to settle for the minor money. Koby Jennings was aboard that day (and rode a half kilo over) and he remains in the saddle for this assignment. She drops sharply in grade here (thus the extra 4kgs today) but well drawn in gate four, she maps to settle just behind the speed again and boasting four wins from six previous second-up appearances, she represents great value today and looks well worth an each-way ticket here.
