BEST BET 🏆

Rave 5:  No.1  FINAL COMMENT  ($4.85 with BoomBet)

Nick Olive saddles-up FINAL COMMENT here who is second-up and ticks enough boxes to raise plenty of interest in his chances of success today. Last start, the Hellbent gelding was resuming from an 18-week break and clearly in need of the run, finished unplaced in a BM66 Hcp over 1200m at Wagga. He creeps closer to his preferred distance today but is already a winner over the 1400m. Billy Owen is booked for his fifth ride on the four-year-old today who should find this contest a lot easier as he drops in grade. Already a winner at the track and won second-up last preparation, with a genuine pace today, he can give this field a start and a beating here.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 4:  No.3  SANTORINI SUN  ($4.40 with Ladbrokes)

The Natalie Jarvis-trained SANTORINI SUN makes her track debut today and currently in career-best form, looks set to give this field something to beat. Last start, the Choisir mare made it four-straight top-two finishes when she beat all but one home in a Class 1 Hcp over 1200m at Nowra. The winner broke 1:10 for the trip which is not too shabby at the Class 1 level. Shaun Guymer has been with her for all five starts this campaign and remains cemented in the saddle again today. With a trouble-free run here, she looks a genuine winning chance in this contest.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 2:  No.4  RHUMBADU  ($8.50 with Unibet)

Canberra galloper RHUMBADU is second-up today and looks well placed here to throw out a challenge for the major prize in this contest. Last start, the Duporth mare was fresh off a six-month absence when she did well to grab third prize in a Class 1 Hcp over 1010m at Moruya. Jockey, Damon Budler, fired in a protest (which looked very warranted from the interference he copped), but it was dismissed by the stewards. Budler sticks with her today and already a winner when second-up, she can give this a real shake at odds.
