BEST BET 🏆

Race 4 No. 10 DOLCE BELLA ($3)

It’s little wonder that punters have fallen into DOLCE BELLA at all three career starts to date. She’s a powerfully built mare who has shown enough in her trials to suggest a maiden win is well within her grasp. They backed her again when racing second-up last time in as Jeff Penza gave Dolce Bella the run of the race. He moved her clear off the fence into the straight before being denied in a photo with Stormy Witness. Those two horses had put a good gap back to the rest with Dolce Bella since trialing well again in readiness for return. Pay to forgive her first-up run where she reportedly did not handle the heavy track at Wagga.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 5 No. 7 CHAOTIC BEAUTY ($7.50)

Apprentice rider Holly Durnan had a good first season in the saddle and she can open her account for the new racing year. She partners with last start winner CHAOTIC BEAUTY who she booted home three weeks ago over this track and trip. Durnan allowed the mare to find her feet towards the rear of the field before circling the deepest into the straight. The pair came with a long-sustained run to get up in the last stride in a blanket finish. Chaotic Beauty had also run second in a close go over 1500 metres here two starts prior to her win. It’s hard to knock the winning form and the early market has posted Chaotic Beauty at an each-way quote.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 3 No. 4 BELLA ACE ($8.50)

Happy to go with the first starter in BELLA ACE as we search for our value bet at Goulburn Racecourse on Monday. Bella Ace has shown speed during her trials this time in work which have been run in sharp time to the day. Shaun Guymer rejoins Bella Ace after riding her in the first of such trials for trainer Lauri Parker. There does not seem to be a whole heap of speed or pressure in this, and we’d expect Guymer to come over with Impartial who is drawn to his inside. Not convinced of the quality of the other horses chasing them on a track that did play to those off the speed last meeting. Rail back to the true with a fresh pad of grass may even things out again for those horses running up on the pace.
