Local galloper ARTS OBJECT is in great touch of late and lines-up here looking for back-to-back victories today. Last start, the Zoustar filly broke through for her first win in a BM58 Hcp, here over 1400m. She ran the trip out, 3.8 lengths slower than benchmark, still the best last-start effort here by more than five lengths. She did it with ease, crossing the line more than a length ahead of them that day so the step up to the mile here looks a breeze. Mitchell Bell remains aboard for this assignment and three runs in, she should be at her peak now. With a trouble-free run today against similar company, she looks the one to beat.

Race 4: No.2 TROIKA ($2.10 with Ladbrokes)
The Mark Newnham-trained TROIKA is second-up here and looks in the mix and ready to break through today. Last start, the Russian Revolution gelding was fresh off a lengthy 20-week absence when he finished just behind the placegetters in a Maiden Plate over 1150m at Newcastle’s Beaumont track. He settled too far back that day and while making up ground in the run home, the Heavy 9 still wasn’t in his favour that day. Tyler Schiller returns for today’s assignment and fitter for that first-up effort, he lines-up here a genuine threat to this field.

Race 6: No.7 WE’VE GOTTA DEEL ($11 with Palmerbet)
The Maher & Eustace-trained WE’VE GOTTA DEEL is third-up today and sporting a tongue tie for the first time, can figure in this contest. Last start, the Dundeel gelding came from near last to finish third in a 1400m Maiden, here on a Soft 5 that day. It was a major improvement on his first-up effort at Orange where he finished 10 lengths from the winner. Brock Ryan takes the reins today and fitter for those runs, he can play a major role here at odds.
