BEST BET 🏆
Race 1: No.3 DRACO’S FIRE
The Annabel Neasham-trained DRACO’S FIRE has put in two solid efforts so far and should now be ready to salute today. Last start, the Rubick gelding took home third prize in a 1400m Maiden at Scone. Crossing the line in second place, he paid the penalty from shifting out on another runner and lost the runner-up prize on protest. Set to make amends today, Zac Lloyd is booked for the ride and barring any further trouble, he can get the job done here.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 4: No.4 BO KATAN
Warwick Farm visitor, BO KATAN is in great touch this time in and looks in the mix today for his first crack at the mile trip. Last start, the Impending gelding came off his maiden win at Wyong when he was held up and tightened for room in the run home and had to settle for fourth prize in a Class 1 over 1300m at Hawkesbury. Now three starts into this preparation, the stable are sending him over the 1600m today where he draws to be box-seating from gate two and has Zac Lloyd as the new pilot for this assignment. At his peak today, he looks a serious contender for the top prize here.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 7: No.8 GUNDY GUY
The Todd Smart-trained GUNDY GUY is off to a flying start this preparation with a picket fence next to his name and he looks a solid chance of adding another picket in this contest. Last start, the well-bred Capitalist gelding made it three-straight when he stepped up from a BM58 win and took a Class 2 field. With Billy Owen still in the saddle that day, he crossed to lead them on settling and proved too strong in the run home, crossing the line more than a length clear in the 1300m event. This is a big step up in class today but he has the runs on the board as Owen sticks with him again. Ideally drawn in gate four, he maps to be on the speed and at his peak here, he looks a major player and a chance of qualifying for the Championships next month.
