BEST BET 🏆

Race 1:  No.5  PROPHET’S DE’VINE  ($1.90 with Ladbrokes)

The Annabel Neasham-trained PROPHET’S DE’VINE has found her mojo this time in and looks the testing material in this contest. Last start the Divine Prophet mare made it a hat-trick of top-two finishes when she beat all but one home in a Class 1/Maiden Plate over 2020m at Murwillumbah. She drew wide (gate 11 of 12) and settled near the rear of the 12-stong field but finished strongly, only to be denied by one other across the line. Ash Morgan steered her into second place, here two starts back and returns for today’s assignment. The extra distance suits and she does no early work from gate one. There’s plenty to like about this four-year-old and she lines-up here as our best of the day.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 4:  No.9  REVONTULET  ($2.75 with BoomBet)

Stephen Lee saddles-up REVONTULET here who returns to country racing and looks the one to beat in this contest. Last start, the Foxwedge mare tried her luck in a Class 3 Highway Hcp at Rosehill but found the competition just a little too slick that day, finishing mid-field in the 1500m event. Today she returns to the country scene and lines-up in a much easier affair. Jai Williams steered her to victory three starts back at Ballina and has the job again today. Ideally drawn in gate four, she is already a track and distance winner and at the weights, looks winning material here.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 7:  No.4  BERTINELLI  ($2.95 with BoomBet)

The Matt Dunn-trained BERTINELLI is in top-shelf form this preparation and looks set to continue the good work here. Last start, the Snitzel filly came off a big Maiden win at Lismore when she fought head and head with Intoxel in a BM58 Hcp over 1100m at Murwillumbah, but came out second-best that day, beaten a short head on the line with Matty McGuren in the saddle. They clash again here with Bertinelli meeting Intoxel 1.5kgs better at the weights this time. The extra distance should also suit the three-year-old who will be at her peak today after four starts into this campaign. McGuren sticks with her today and with a trouble-free run, she can turn the tables in this contest.
