Annabel Neasham saddles-up two here who dominate the market as we run with HYDE who brings consistent form into this contest and making his track debut, looks every chance of rolling his stablemate here today. Last start, the Snitzel gelding was slowly away and settled last of the 11 runners. Still last on the turn (spotting them eight lengths), Michael Hellyer had to come even wider to find clean air, and with no chance of winning from there, he drove the gelding home who finished strongly over the final 200m and finished with 1.5 lengths of the winner. He ran the last 600m, 3 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best last-start effort here by more than 3 lengths. He also posted the fastest final 800m to 200m sectionals as well. The step-up in distance can only help his chances today. Hellyer sticks with him and with a clear run today, he can finish over the top of these and claim his third career victory.

Beaudesert galloper POETIC CHOICE is third-up today and ticks enough boxes here to suggest he is a solid chance of taking out this contest. Last start, the Poet’s Voice gelding looked all at sea when finishing down the track in a strong BM75 field at Ipswich. Despite carrying just 52.5kgs (after the claim), he still couldn’t match it with his rivals that day, finishing 3.5 lengths from the winner. He drops in grade here and has a new rider with Sean Cormack taking the reins for this assignment. Drawn to do no early work here in gate two, He will strip fitter for two runs back and is already a two-time winner when third-up. He loves racing here, already chalking up three wins and as many minor placings in his eight starts here and being a three-time winner over the 1200m to date, he looks well worth an each-way ticket today.
