Race 5: No.6 GRANNY’S REWARD ($3 with Picklebet)

The Jack Bruce-trained GRANNY’S REWARD is in great touch this time in and looks well placed here to make here Kilcoy debut a winning one today. Last start, the Reward For Effort mare made it two wins from her past three starts when she easily accounted for a BM0-58 field over 1400m at Gatton. She sat in the one-one from the outset and once clear of traffic, gave them all the go-by and went on to win by a length on the line with plenty more in reserve. At her peak today, she maps to settle in the first half of the field and with a clear run to the line, she can take this out.

Race 2: No.8 DEELOSH ($6 with Ladbrokes)

The Chris Anderson-trained DEELOSH is second-up today and in the small field, looks poised to pounce in this contest. Last start, the Mikki Isle mare was fresh off a 17-week break and did well to grab third prize in a BM62 Hcp over 1100m at Gatton with Rob Thorburn in the saddle. The 1200m here looks ideal for her now as Thorburn sticks with the five-year-old. Already a winner when second-up, a trouble-free run today could see her repeat that feat here.

Race 7: No.11 ROMAN REIGN ($7.50 with Neds)

The Doomben-based galloper, ROMAN REIGN, is somewhat of a track specialist here and first-up today, has the stats to suggest that even on fresh legs, she will be the one to catch in this contest. Last start, the Holy Roman Emperor mare ended her last preparation by beating all but one home in a BM0-55 Hcp over, here over 1200m. She comes off a nine-week let-up here and has Lilli Barr remaining aboard for this assignment. Her five starts here have resulted in a win and two minor placings and that victory was first-up after almost a year off the scene. She maps to settle mid-field today and already a two-time winner when resuming, she will looks a genuine threat here at odds today.
