BEST BET 🏆

Race 6 No. 2 RICH FORTUNE ($3.75)

Looking forward to seeing RICH FORTUNE back in action. The promising mare from the Jerome Hunter stable has won two of five, including a Group 3 win in the Kevin Hayes Stakes (1100m) back in the autumn. The four-year-old comes into this first up and was a strong winner ahead of the likes of Fission and Port Albert when fresh at Moonee Valley at her most recent preparation. She might be destined for bigger things than this and from barrier 4 with the 3kg claimer on board, she should be hard to hold out late in the piece.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 1 No. 10 VICTORY COMMAND- ($5.30)

VICTORY COMMAND can go close in the opener at Bendigo. The Peter Moody & Katherine Coleman-trained galloper wasn’t far from them in a couple of runs last season in the city and resumed at Cranbourne on October 13 over the 1200m, finishing 4th behind King Ben. He settled back in the field of eight and was held up as they cornered before producing the fastest last 200m. Second up last time, the son of Pierro was 5th in what turned out to be a solid form race at Flemington. Billy Egan rides and the pair draw barrier 2.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 8 No. 1 TREPORTI ($7)

TREPORTI can be an improver when he steps out in Race 8. The Danny O’Brien-trained galloper has had just the one run this time in and that came at Caulfield on October 18 over the 1100m. He was 6th that day behind Dancing Alone, beaten three lengths. The five-year-old drops in grade and should take improvement. At his last second up run, the son of I Am Invincible improved nearly four lengths on benchmark figures to score over the 1300m at Bendigo. From barrier 4, he is right in this.
