Race 3 No. 12 LORD PROTECTOR ($3.80)

Hoping the second emergency, LORD PROTECTOR, can sneak into the field in Race 3. The Busuttin/Young galloper has had the two career starts and showed improvement at the most recent of those when running on for 3rd over the 1500m at Ballarat on October 15. He was shuffled back in that race and came out wide before producing the fastest last 200m. The son of Savabeel jumps in distance but we must respect the stable with their young stayers and he should be strong late in the piece.

Race 1 No. 7 FINALE – ($4.40)

FINALE can go a couple of spots better than a last start effort that saw her finish 3rd over the 1200m at Kilmore on October 17. The Cliff Brown-trained galloper led that day before being run down late by Innocent Moves, finishing 3rd behind that horse. She will strip fitter for this and will stick handy or on the speed in a race that lacks pressure.

Race 8 No. 4 SACRED KIWI – ($6.50)

SACRED KIWI should find this easier than recent runs. The seven-year-old was fair behind Shock Em Ova at Caulfield three starts ago then was luckless at Moe when 5th after that. At his most recent start, he stepped out in a BenchMark 64 over the 1760m at Geelong and settled handy before sticking on for 8th, beaten three lengths by Samedi. The son of Sacred Falls drops in grade for this and the 1600m should suit better. Dakotah Keane rides and claims the 3kg.
