BEST BET 🏆

Race 2:  No.2  SAVEADATEFORME  ($4.60 with Picklebet)

John O’Shea pops down to Moruya for Cup day with two on the float and saddles-up SAVEADATEFORME here who is second-up and looks in the mix for a win today. Last start, the Savabeel gelding was fresh off a lengthy 22-week break when he finished unplaced in a BM64 over 1400m, still beaten just two lengths in that event. Already a winner when second-up, he steps-up to mile trip today where he is also a winner and with a trouble-free run here, he can take home the chocolates.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 7:  No.7  MOSGOLD  ($3.50 with BlueBet)

Goulburn galloper, MOSGOLD has been the most consistent horse on the country scene for some time and looks ideally placed here to take the Cup home with her today. Last start, the Sooboog mare passed her strongest test to date when she took on city-based gallopers, and beat them. Jett Stanley steered her across from gate seven (of 11) and led on settling and they simply couldn’t catch her in the end as she went on to score by half a length on the line in a Class 3 over 1400m. That was a perfect preparation for this contest as Stanley sticks with her today. She has seen the track once, finishing runner-up that day. The four-year-old mare boasts 11 podium finishes from her 12 career starts to date. All the boxes are ticked today and she looks the one to beat. For you omen punters out there, sink your teeth into this… Race 7, Horse 7, Barrier 7 (and she is rated at 77).

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 6:  No.5  LONDON GAL  ($5.60 with BoomBet)

The Scott Collings-trained LONDON GAL is in great touch this time in and ticks enough boxes here to suggest she is a serious player in this contest. Last start, the Sizzling mare was third-up and having her second look at this track when she led from barrier to box at big odds ($14) in Open company over the 1300m trip. She crossed from the outside gate (9) and was never headed, holding them all at bay with Matthew Cahill in the saddle for the fifth time. Cahill sticks with her today as the mare gets the dream run from gate two today and at her peak here, she should prove hard to run down again.
