BEST BET 🏆
Race 8 No. 2 SIGHTSEER ($8)
We will make the Gregory McFarlane trained SIGHTSEER our Best Bet for Muswellbrook Racecourse on Friday. The consistent four-year-old was something beaten when slowly away on his home track when resuming last start. That young lad Lachlan Scorse again, he did everything within his power to find clear running from then on in. Scorse was forced to duck and weave his way up the Gosford straight aboard Sightseer who never shirked the task. Gutsy run to finish amongst the placings and now welcomes the in-form senior Aaron Bullock into the saddle.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 4 No. 1 TOUCH OF NAVY ($4.05)
Claiming apprentice Emma Ly will give TOUCH OF NAVY a quiet ride from back in the field as trainer John Bannister sends his horse around at Muswellbrook Racecourse on Friday. Four kilo claimer Lachlan Scorse gave Touch Of Navy a nice ride from that sort of position when racing first-up at Newcastle. He rode the percentages to perfection when cutting inside of horses as they got out to the middle part of the track. Touch Of navy seemed to take an age to get there once balanced before launching after the leading trio into the straight. Scorse narrowly missed his win aboard Touch Of navy who may be better suited over further. Bannister would have kept him fresh between runs and Ly will have the option of using the cutaway into the straight.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 6 No. 7 STAR MAGIC ($5)
Trainer Nathan Doyle has added the blinkers and a noseband to new stable acquisition STAR MAGIC as he searches for a New South Wales debut for the mare. He has nominated for just about everything with his former Victorian trained mare after giving her two barrier trials in preparation for return. She showed pace in each of those before looking a little lost halfway up the straight of Gosford at her latest. The gear changes are a clear indication of the stables intent to roll forward and it would seem that Doyle is doing all he can to start Star magic off on a winning note.
