BEST BET 🏆
Race 1: No.7 L’ESPERANCE ROCK ($4.60 with BlueBet)
Gosford galloper L’ESPERANCE ROCK is third-up today and has shown promise since returning to the track. Last start, the Kermadec mare was second-up when she finished third in a Class 1 Hcp, here (on the main track) over 1300m. She ran that out, 4.6 lengths slower than benchmark, the best here by more than 3 lengths and a new personal best for her as well. She also posted the fastest final 800m to 200m sectionals for the race. Louise Day was aboard that day and has the reins again for today’s assignment. Third-up and fitter today, this looks no harder and ideally drawn in gate two, she can give this contest a real shake.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 7: No.13 KING’S DUTY ($2.40 with bet365)
Local galloper KING’S DUTY has his second race start today and going off his efforts on debut, he looks the one to beat here. The Exosphere gelding had his first start here on this track where he clobbered his rivals a Maiden Plate, over 1150m on a heavy track that day. Coming off three-straight barrier trial wins, he put 2.5 lengths on them as he led from barrier to box with Mikayla Weir on board. He ran the trip out, 4 lengths slower than benchmark, still the best in this line-up. Weir sticks with him today and from an ideal draw in gate three, he looks maps to lead again and will take plenty of catching here.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 2: No.4 BINKOU ($3.10 with Neds)
The Robert Agnew-trained BINKOU is third-up off a 10-week break and looks well placed here to take out this event today. Last start, the Outreach gelding made it back-to-back podium finishes when she claimed third prize (again) in a Class 1 Hcp over 1200m at Port Macquarie. She ran that trip out, 3.5 lengths slower than benchmark, a new personal best for him and still the best in this field by more than 2 lengths. He also recorded the fastest final 800m to 200m sectionals for the race. He won his maiden here (on the Beaumont track) three starts back and has Ash Morgan in the saddle for the ride. He maps to settle near mid-field from gate six and fitter for two runs back, he looks right in the mix today.
