BEST BET 🏆
Race 1 No. 2 DOTHRAKI – ($3)
Todd Pannell takes the ride aboard DOTHRAKI in the opener for Horsham trainer Paul Preusker. Preusker finds the right race to open the campaign following two impressive jumpouts at home and also at Terang. Dothraki showed good gate speed in both of these before going onto record soft wins without being asked to find. Finds a good set-up first-up where we’d expect Hi Smokey to attempt to cross them. Load And Go will be kicking-up on the fence with Soobmerged keeping the pressure on between them. Pannell will get plenty of pressure to follow and can claim them all with Dothraki.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 4 No. 11 KATE’S REBEL – ($5.50)
Thought we were stiff to be beaten when backing KATE’S REBEL over 2500 metres recently at Murray Bridge. Justin Potter had her travelling in a beautiful position throughout, then just failed to come off backs prior to straightening. This allowed one to come around his outside and hold Kate’s Rebel in a pocket for much of the straight. She finished well once clear to sure-up a minor as the quinella horses had stolen a march. Kate’s Rebel bounced back with a determined win in maiden grade over this trip at Murray Bridge last start. Stuart Padman has his mare very fit and she should be able to roll into a forward position once more.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 7 No. 6 BOSSY BRITCHES – ($7.50)
Dom Tourneur will need to be at his brilliant best to plot a path on BOSSY BRITCHES out of a low-percentage barrier. The mare has won her last two at home courtesy of box-seat rides from Dom out of inside gates. She was dominant when winning over this trip third-up as Tourneur sent her for home prior to the dog leg. Followed-up over the same when settling behind the speed to poke between horses and hold out Clever man. Similar sort of race this, and Bossy Britches races equally as well in Naracoorte. Bossy Britches ran third in this race last year and the mare is racing in great form once again.
