Matt Smith brings BULLBARROW to here for his first look at the Beaumont track and with Naval Commission scratched (to run at Goulburn today), he looks the pick of the crop in this contest. Last start, the Irish-sired gelding broke through for his first win when he took out a 1750m Maiden Plate at Muswellbrook. He steps-up to 2100m today and has Ben Looker aboard for his first ride on the galloper with the only concern, the wet track, having not run in heavy conditions previously. He gets the gun-run from gate one today and in ever-consistent form, looks the one to beat today.

Race 4:  No.2  ATHENA NYX  ($2.70 with Neds)

Second-up off a 13-week break today, the Kris Lees-trained ATHENA NYX looks right in the mix today. Last start, the Star Turn mare tried to lead all the way but her condition gave out as she weakened to finish fifth in a BM58 over 1200m on the main course here. Already a winner when second-up, she is also a two-time winner over the trip and both victories were on rain affected tracks. The 2kg claim will also help her chances here and with a trouble-free run today, she looks just the ticket.

Race 5:  No.1  CALL ME LOUIS  ($2.90 with BlueBet)

Scone-based galloper CALL ME LOUIS is one form one on the Beaumont track and first-up today, looks a serious player in this contest. Last start, the Spieth gelding made it four podium finishes in a row when he broke through for his first career-win in a 1350m Maiden Hcp on this track. In extreme conditions, he carried 59kgs to victory on a Heavy 10 that day. Since then, he has placed in a Tamworth trial over 1000m. Braith Nock has his first ride on the four-year-old today and beings with him a 2kg claim which sees the galloper carrying the same weight as last start. The conditions look ideal for him here and from gate one, he gets all the favours and should prove hard to beat on fresh legs today.
