Race 3 No. 3 MATTEI- ($2.10)

MATTEI can break through in Race 3. The four-year-old has had just the two career starts for a 7th at Donald on debut before showing improvement at Warrnambool on July 31, finishing runner-up behind The Last Judgment. He loomed to win that and hit the lead a fraction early before being run down in the shadows, while there was a bit of a gap back to 3rd. The Mitchell Freedman-trained galloper went 0.2 lengths slower than standard benchmark at the ‘Bool, which is eight lengths better than the next best last start figures of any runner. He just needs to transfer that to the Synthetic and should be winning. 

NEXT BEST 🥈 (WIN) 

Race 6 No 5 NEVADA BREEZE- ($6)

Race 6 is a BenchMark 58 over the 1200m and NEVADA BREEZE can go one spot better than a last start effort that saw him finish runner-up behind Explosive Rosie over the 1200m on August 8. He has been knocking on the door and was 3rd prior to that when resuming on the Ballarat Synthetic. The five-year-old should be ready to peak for this assignment and draws perfectly in barrier 5 with Jake Noonan to ride.
