BEST BET 🏆
RAce 4: No.3 ROMEO’S CHOICE ($3.20 with Palmerbet)
Warwick Farm galloper ROMEO’S CHOICE sees the Beaumont track for the first time here and in good touch of late, can break through today. Last start, the Choistar gelding finished bridesmaid again when he beat all but one home in a Hawkesbury Maiden over 1300m. With Aaron Bullock aboard, he took over on the turn and looked the goods until he was grabbed late by a swooper, leaving him with the silver medal for the fourth time in his 11-start career to date. He ran his last 600m, half a length quicker than benchmark that day which is 4 lengths better than this field managed last start. Bullock sticks with him here and all going well, he can shake the maiden monkey today.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 2: No.8 WARRAH FLASH ($5.50 with Ladbrokes)
Scone galloper WARRAH FLASH is second-up today and fits the bill for a big performance in this contest. Last start, the Salade gelding moved from the Cody Morgan stables and impressed on debut for Lou Mary when he beat all but one home in a BM58 Hcp over 1000m at Tamworth. Not raced for six months, he settled last that day and stormed home to miss by a whisker, running his last 600m, 1.9 lengths quicker than benchmark, second-best only behind Titration here (who is first-up and yet to win on fresh legs). He also posted the fastest final 800m to 200m sectionals for the race. Mitchell Bell returns for his sixth ride on the six-year-old, having already steered him to two of his three career wins to date. Up slightly in grade today, he drops 3.5kgs for the contest and is already a winner when second-up. He will be a contender here.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 7: No.3 REMLAPS COMMANDER ($4.60 with bet365)
The Scott Singleton-trained REMLAPS COMMANDER resumes today off what was a promising debut campaign and after two successful trials, he can take this out on fresh legs. Last start, the well-bred Extreme Choice colt ended his first tilt at racing with a win in a Maiden Plate, here over 1150m. Jumping from barrier eight (of nine), he settled outside the leader and in the run home, he eventually reeled him in and held off a late challenge as well to break through for his first win. He has been missing since November last year but returned to work last month and has since placed in two trials. Drawn much better today, he maps to settle in the first half-dozen and has Jenny Duggan on board for the first time (having ridden him at his last trial). With a trouble-free run here, he can give this a real shake today.
