BEST BET 🏆
Race 8: No.2 FLETCHLO ($3.90 with Ladbrokes)
Bathurst trainer, Gayna Williams saddles-up FLETCHLO here who looks all set to bring up the hat-trick today. Last start, the Denman gelding made it two-straight when he came off his maiden win and franked that effort by easily accounting for a Class 1 Hcp over 1400m on his home track. Clay Gallagher is now two-from-two with the four-year-old and remains in charge for today’s assignment. He does no early work from gate four where he maps to settle back in the field. He is already a winner when third-up and has saluted on soft ground as well. With a trouble-free run here, he can make it three-straight today.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 3: No.3 ELSON BOY ($4.60 with bet365)
Dubbo galloper, ELSON BOY returns to where it all began today and third-up, looks in the mix for a big one. Last start, the El Roca gelding was second-up and came out full of running when he led from barrier to box in a BM50 over 1400m on his home track. The track was a Soft 6 that day as he lumped 62kgs to a half length win in the end. He is up in class today but drops 6.5kgs (or a stone on the old scale) for his troubles after the claim by Olivia Chambers. He is already a winner in wet conditions and won his maiden here three starts back. Ideally drawn in gate two, he maps to settle near the speed and fitter for two runs back, he has strong claims to take out this contest.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 2: No.9 WORLD ATLAS ($5.50 with Unibet)
The Michael Mulholland-trained WORLD ATLAS has returned to racing in top-shelf form and coming in on the limit today, looks the one to beat at the weights. Last start, the No Nay Never mare came off her maiden win (on this track) when she stepped-up to Class 1 company and did well to finish third in the 1600m contest at Warren. This looks no harder and the wet track can only enhance her chances here. Apprentice, Shayleigh Ingelse has been aboard for all three starts this preparation and steers the ship again for this assignment. After the claim, the mare carries just 53kgs here and at her peak today, should prove hard to hold out.
