Race 1 No. 2 ROADCONE- ($1.75) 

ROADCONE can go on with the job in the opener. The Peter Moody & Katherine Coleman-trained galloper was an impressive winner at Seymour on April 19 over the 1200m, settling on the speed before powering away to win by four lengths from Bodhisattva. The son of Almanzour went 2.7 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is the best last start figure of any tuner. He should have scope for improvement at his second run and can box seat from barrier 2.

Race 5 No. 4 MAKDANE- ($1.76) 

MAKDANE should be hard to beat in Race 5. The Michael Kent-trained galloper has placed in all three of his career starts and just missed behind Attain two starts ago when runner-up. The 3rd horse then came out and won its next start. Since that effort, Makdane stepped out at Sandown and couldn’t catch Our Sassy Lady, who just missed out in a BenchMark 70 last Monday at Werribee. With Craig Williams on board, he gets his chance.

Race 8 No. 14 SOOBOOMA- ($16.20) 

Hoping SOOBOOMA can sneak into the field in Race 8. The five-year-old has not won in two years but this is a decent class drop after running 10th at Caulfield in a BenchMark 70 on April 27 over the 1200m. He was solid when second up over the 1200m prior to that, running on for 4th at Pakenham in a BM64 behind General Firepower. The Ray Besanko-trained galloper should be at peak fitness now and draws to be prominent from barrier 2.
