Pinjarra Tips 17/03/2024

BEST BET 🏆

Race 5 No. 8 INDIE RULER – ($6)

The Luke Fenie trained INDIE RULER made it four wins from his past five race starts when leading all the way at Ascot Racecourse. Indie Ruler now has two Ascot Saturday wins to his name and is climbing through the handicap ratings. He sat outside the leader to kick into the straight and win over 1000 metres on an on-pace dominated day when resuming. Backed it up a fortnight later as Jade McNaught sent her mount straight to the front. They scooted along at a quick tempo again and managed to win despite hanging badly under pressure. The second-up win came on a day where leaders found it tough going for most of the card. Indie Ruler ran one of the faster times relative to the day and deserves a shot at these harder grades.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 6 No. 5 CASH AWAY – ($8)

We’ve marked CASH AWAY as a horse of interest following the reviews of both his first and second-up runs this time in. Holly Watson has come back to last on him in both of those runs before transferring the whip through to her left hand. Circled as the widest into the straight when getting home hard to just miss Premium Choice in a photo over 1000 metres first-up. She rode for luck on him when Cash Away was well out of his ground second-up over 1200 metres. He made late ground between horses inside the furlong behind Red Fifty Three last time out. Will need a good ride from Paul Harvey off of an inside gate at Pinjarra Racecourse on Saturday as he gets out to the 1400 metres third-up.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 8 No. 12 WOTUGOT – ($31)

David Harrison is close to a win with 2yo WOTUGOT. His filly won a recent trial in fast time at Lark Hill when she sat just behind the speed under Jason Whiting. Whiting edged her into the clear on straightening before allowing her to chase the leader under her own steam. Wotugot picked up the subsequent Saturday Pinjarra Metro winner Brazen Bid to score in fast time with ease. Backed it up on race day when again settling behind the speed over 1000 metres at Ascot. Madhi Girl led without pressure to open a winning break into the straight. Wotugot got into her stride by the 150m to come out and chase. She just missed the winner by a slender margin while leaving gaps in the rest of the field. May pay to forgive when getting back off a wide gate in a slowly-run race last time.
