Race 1:  No.3  MORE FOR US

The Stirling Osland-trained MORE FOR US is in career-best form this time in and looks primed for another big effort in this contest. Last start, the Spieth gelding made it six-straight top-two finishes when he beat all but one home (again) in a Class 1 over 1900m on his home track at Armidale. Mikayla Weir has been on board for all six of those events and remains loyal to him today. The stable have removed the blinkers and replaced them with visors for this event. The four-year-old sees the 2100m for the first time but his latest effort over the 1900m gave every indication he will handle the rise in trip. He won his maiden over the mile four starts back and has finished runner-up in every start since so he will be out to end that string of bridesmaid finishes here.

Race 5:  No.4  COMPELLING TRUTH

Mudgee galloper, COMPELLING TRUTH is second-up today and ticks enough boxes to suggest he can give this contest a real shake. Last start, the I Am Invincible gelding was first-up after more than 12 months off the scene when he came out on fresh legs and clobbered them in a BM58 over 1000m at Dubbo. Carrying 61kgs and Jake Pracey-Holmes for the first time, he led from barrier to box and put 2.5 lengths on them in the process. He draws gate five today and maps to settle on speed here. Already a winner when second-up, Pracey-Holmes remains the pilot for this assignment and a repeat of his last-start effort will see him very hard to beat today.

Race 7:  No.9  HAYSIRI 

Lou Mary saddles-up HAYSIRI here who is second-up off a 13-week spell and meeting easier opposition today, looks in the mix for a top-three finish. Last start, the Dawn Approach gelding finished unplaced in a BM64 Hcp over 1250m at Randwick. Settling back in the field, he ran home one-paced and was clearly in need of the run. He ended his last campaign with a win at Scone over 1300m and had Mitchell Bell as the pilot that day who returns here to steer the ship again. Back to country competition today and fitter for that first-up run, he draws well in gate three and should prove hard to hold out in this company.
