BEST BET 🏆
Race 4 No. 9 MOMENTS IN LIFE ($5.10)
There does not appear to be a lot of speed drawn back to the inside of MOMENTS IN LIFE at Port Augusta Racecourse tomorrow. She was forced to track three and four wide the speed before shifting even wider into the straight here two runs back. Moments In Life kept coming and held her margin from the others without ceding ground to the line. Caitlin Tootell then gave her a plumb ride behind the speed when staying to the 1100 metres here last time. While the pair found Famous Knight far too good, they comfortably held the rest at bay.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 7 No. 3 KUNGKA MARU ($5.60)
Laura trainer Bryan Holtham has picked up city class mare KUNGKA MARU and will unleash her at Port Augusta Racecourse for the first time on Sunday. The former Ryan Balfour trained galloper finds herself in country grade after finding it hard to win her races. She has raced consistently well through city and provincial grade with a fifty percent strike rate of running in the top three. Hard to know how Kungka Maru is going for her first-up tilt with no public showing coming into this race. We’ll take note that Holtham has removed the blinkers in favour of winkers which may indicate that he has her ready to fire first-up. Wide gate is no help, and we’ll hope that Rochelle Milnes can find some cover behind the expected hot pressure.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 2 No. 8 GLACIES HEART – ($8.50)
Progressive David Huxtable trained mare GLACIES HEART can prove hard to beat at Port Augusta Racecourse on Sunday. She was okay with her first run at the track here two runs back. Glacies Heart had drawn out in a small field with Caitlin Tootell working her into the race. The winner cut the corner inside the pair to race on by and score leaving Glacies Heart some three lengths behind. The mare improved into her next run here with Tootell giving her a smooth ride from an ideal gate. Loved the way that Glacies Heart moved into the race on the turn and she kept coming to the line. Glacies Heart was narrowly beaten in a three-way go for second and looks suited while staying to track and trip.
