BEST BET 🏆
Race 7: No.3 BON FRANKIE ($6.50 with Palmerbet)
The Aaron Clarke-trained BON FRANKIE has done enough this preparation to suggest he is more than a match for the odds-on favourite (Profit’s Pride) here today. Last start, the Bon Hoffa gelding came off a win at Nowra when he beat all but one home in a BM65 Hcp over the mile on a Heavy 10 at Canberra. Despite the conditions, he ran his last 600m, 6.3 lengths quicker than benchmark, the best in this field by more than 10 lengths. Ironically, the four-year-old is yet to race on a dry track so it’s a case of wait and see in that regard. Still, rock-hard fit now after four starts this time in and drawn the fence today, he has a ‘weight and gate’ advantage over the topweight who, while looking the obvious one to beat, can still be beaten here.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 6: No.6 LOOK ONLY ($11 with Ladbrokes)
Local galloper LOOK ONLY resumes today and her stats suggest she can figure in this contest. Her three starts past preparation all ended in unplaced finishes, the last two of those were in city class company. Ending that campaign, she took on a BM72 Hcp at Warwick Farm where she finished down the track, running the trip, 4.4 lengths slower than benchmark, still the best here. She has made the podium four times from six runs here (including two wins) and today Has Ellen Hennessey returning for the ride, having ridden her eight times previously, saluting twice. The six-year-old is already a two-time winner when first-up which puts her in the competition today. Certainly worth an each-way ticket here.
