Race 4:  No.1  AUTUMN ANGEL

Scratched last Saturday and avoided the clash with Orchestral in the Group 1 Vinery Stud Stakes, AUTUMN ANGEL faces an easier task here and fitter for two runs back, looks a real player in this contest. Last start, the three-year-old daughter of The Autumn Sun showed plenty of fight to win the Group 2 Kewney Stakes over the mile at Flemington. After taking the lead inside the final 200m, she was harassed by two challengers who looked certain give her the go-by but she fought like a caged tiger to ward them off and crossed the line ahead of them in the end. She won the Group 3 Ethereal (2000m) three starts back so the step-up in distance shouldn’t pose a problem. Mark Zahra steered her to victory last start and sticks with her for this assignment. In great touch now, she will take beating here.

Race 7:  No.8  IMPERATRIZ

The Group 1 conquering Kiwi, IMPERATRIZ should be at his fittest after three runs this time in and currently in outstanding form, he looks the testing material here in his bid to land Group One win number 11 in this contest. Last start, the I Am Invincible champion bounced back from a shock loss in the Group 1 Newmarket (1200m) at Flemington when he held off a late challenge from $71 chance, Johnny Rocker, to win his second Group 1 William Reid Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley. Regular rider, Opie Bosson remains in pride of place and from a good draw (in gate 6) he looks a solid winning chance here.

Race 3:  No.2  WITZ END

New Zealand visitor, WITZ END sees Royal Randwick for the first time here and boasting four top-two finishes from his four starts to date, he certainly warrants plenty of respect in this contest. Last start, the Savabeel gelding beat all but one home in Group 2 Wellington Guineas over the mile trip at Trentham. Now four starts behind him, he will line up here at his peak and with James McDonald at the helm, he looks a serious contender for the trophy.
