Race 8 No. 7 OUR MALYSHKA- ($3.55) 

Willing to have something on OUR MALYSHKA in the final race of the day. The Luke Oliver-trained galloper has had just the one career start for a win back on January 14. That came over the 1100m at Sale and she settled three deep but handy before exerting authority at the business end in what was an impressive debut. The daughter of Russian Revolution has not been seen since then and it might pay to keep an eye on any late betting moves. But if her first start is anything to go by she can measure up to this lot.

Race 4 No.10 MON ETOILE – ($3.95) 

MON ETOILE can break through in Race 4. The Emma-Lee & David Browne-trained galloper has had the eight career starts for four minor placings and was solid at Bendigo when second up last time over the 1600m, finishing runner-up behind Worcester. He settled last in the field of nine and produced the fastest last 200m, putting a five-length gap on the 3rd placegetter. The son of Almanzour comes into this third up and the slight step up to the 1717m looks perfect.

Race 7 No. 10 LADY SHALAA- ($5.3) 

LADY SHALAA can go close in Race 7. The Danny O’Brien-trained galloper was a winner two starts ago at Terang before rising to BenchMark 64 and finishing runner-up behind Chill The Krug at Cranbourne over the 1400m. She settled midfield in that race and was strong to the line, going 0.3 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is the best last start benchmark figure of any runner in this race. She should enjoy the run of the race for barrier 3 and we can expect to see her fighting out the finish.
