Port Lincoln Tips 07/04/2024
BEST BET 🏆
Race 4 No. 4 HE’S ABEL ($5)
Local trainer Jackie Stoetzer cheered home a winner when HE’S ABEL got up to score in the last stride over this track and trip three starts ago. Got back from a wide gate as the pace was on for his next start. He’s Abel did make some ground nearer to the fence to finish a couple of lengths off the winner Lastar. Callan Murray was able to have the horse in a better position towards the back of midfield last start. Sino Witness had the race run to suit out in front with the rest of the field making little impression in the straight. He’s Able was one of those who managed to run on late. Stoetzer swings the rider change as Rochelle Milnes comes into the saddle to keep He’s Abel well in at the weights from an inside draw.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 3 No. 10 SHEEZAHIFLYA ($6)
A repeat of the improved effort from SHEEZAHIFLYA last start could see her fighting out the finish at Port Lincoln on Sunday. The filly was racing over 1350m after going around in five-furlong races at her previous few starts. The extra distance enabled her to be right up outside the leader for Alana Livesey. She looked in trouble when the winner went on by as the field turned for home. Sheezahiflya rallied to come again with the winner laying back on top of her late. Alana managed to get her mount home for third and Sheezahiflya could be further improved as the blinkers go on.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 7 No. 1 ENBARR ($8)
We were on ENBARR as our roughie bet of the day in the Kimba Cup off an awkward barrier draw last start. The horse had been getting back in his runs and we were hoping to see him go forward from the gate. Enbarr has done all his best racing when getting up on the speed. He was caught three and four wide at various stages of his prior race while racing on the pace. I Need A Drink and The Art Of Flying both found better runs in that race to leave Enbarr to take out third place. Trainer Shylie Williams missed the Port Lincoln Cup with Enbarr which we felt would be a good recipe for the Kimba Cup. The horse just found those drawn inside too quick through the early stages. We’ll stick for another as Enbarr draws closer to the middle while finding a slightly easier assignment on Sunday.
