BEST BET 🏆   

Race 1 No. 7 JACK RABBIT ($2.50) 

This looks to be a suitable assignment for JACK RABBIT. The Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr-trained galloper made his debut at Benalla on January 30 over the 1412m and was back in a slowly run race before picking a few off in the run home to finish 5th. He produced the second fastest last 200m and the son of Dundeel should appreciate the extra 300m here. This is a weak race and he comes in with the best last start benchmark figures of any runner. 

NEXT BEST 🥈   

Race 2 No. 9 SNICK ($3.30) 

Prepared to go with the 13-start Maiden, SNICK, in Race 2. The four-year-old has placed in her past four runs and resumed at Pakenham on January 18 over the 1200m, finishing 3rd behind Subsix. The winner out of that has since gone on to place 3rd in a BenchMark 64, while the 5th placegetter has taken out their madden. Snick improved five lengths on benchmark figures when second up last time and will strip fitter. From barrier 3, she gets her best opportunity yet.

Race 5 No. 2 MANHATTAN THUNDER ($5) 

This looks to be a suitable assignment for MANHATTAN THUNDER. The four-year-old was a winner at Moonee Valley two starts ago over the 1000m before tackling a BenchMark 70 and running 8th behind Mornington Glory at Flemington over the 1000m. He chased well that day in a race where the form has since held up. A winner at his only go at the track and trip, he will get back from the gate but tempo up front looks solid for him to launch at them late.
