BEST BET 🏆

Race 3:  No.5  MERSEYSIDE  ($3.20 with bet365)

The O’Dea & Hoysted-trained MERSEYSIDE is in top-shelf form this time in and she will take a ton of beating here. Last start, the Better Than Ready mare made it four-straight podium finishes when she comfortably won a BM65 Hcp, here over the 1400m trip. Ben Thompson rode her a treat that night, tracking the front-runners and taking over at the right time, going on to win by more than a length over the line. At her peak here after four starts in, Thompson sticks with her tonight and ideally drawn in gate four, she looks the testing material in this company.

NEXT BEST 🥈

Race 6:  No.10  MISS TEFE  ($4 with Ladbrokes)

Chris Anderson saddles-up MISS TEFE here who is in good touch and looks well placed in this contest tonight. Last start, the Exceed And Excel filly went south of the border where she took on a BM58 Hcp at Lismore and beat all but one home in the 1110m event. She had a Heavy 9 to deal with that day, and handled it well in the field of eight. She won her maiden here three starts back over tonight’s trip and has Bailey Wheeler retaining the ride. Rock-hard fit after five starts this time in and already a track and distance winner, she looks good value in this field and looks a genuine winning chance tonight.

BEST VALUE 💰

Race 1:  No.2  PUNT YOUR WAY OUT  ($6 with BlueBet)

The Tony Gollan-trained PUNT YOUR WAY OUT has got what it takes to roll the red-hot favourite here tonight. Last start, the Scissor Kick gelding was fresh off a 20-week spell when he made a statement, finishing fourth, in a Class 1 Plate over 1200m at Ipswich. Ryan Maloney was aboard that day and from last on the turn, he threaded his way through traffic to finish within a length of victory that day. Tonight, Bailey Wheeler has the reins and after his claim, he carries 3.5kgs less than the favourite (Wonderful Rayray) which could prove to be the difference here. This looks no harder than his last hit-out and he does look a little ‘overs’ in this contest.
