Race 1:  No.4  ALLEZ ZOU  ($3 with Ladbrokes)

The Chris Munce-trained ALLEZ ZOU comes back to provincial class racing today and looks well placed here to bounce back. Last start, the Zoustar gelding was shooting for back-to-back wins when he found his city-class opposition just a little too strong on the day, finishing mid-field in a worthy Class 3 contest over 1350m at Doomben. Prior to that, he won a Class 4 here, over 1300m. Robbie Dolan was aboard for both of those rides and sticks with him today. He’ll do no early work from gate two and maps to settle mid-field on the fence. If he can secure a clear run to the line, already a four-time winner at Corbould Park, he should prove hard to hold out today.

Race 6:  No.3  DARK CHILL  ($2.30 with bet365)

The David Vandyke-trained DARK CHILL sees his home track for the first time day and third-up, will take some beating. Last start, the Dawn Approach gelding showed plenty of improvement when second-up, he beat all but one home in a Class 2 Hcp over 1650m at Doomben. He draws out today but maps to settle with cover, near mid-field. Ben Thompson has been his pilot for both starts this time in and remains on board today. Already a winner when third-up, he can get the job done here.

Race 2:  No.6  TORQUE LEICA STAR  ($8 with Neds)

The Stuart Kendrick-trained TORQUE LEICA STAR has been all over the shop with her form this preparation but with successful jockey, Ryan Wiggins, back on board today, she looks set to bounce back here. Two starts back, the Zoustar mare recorded a good win in a BM55 over 2200m, here with Wiggins aboard. Then last start, she dropped back to the 1800m journey and with Jake Bayliss in the saddle, she put in a shocker, finishing near last, seven lengths from the winner. Wiggins returns for this assignment and while she has to be taken on trust, she ticks enough boxes here to attract interest and looks a worthwhile each-way ticket today.
