BEST BET 🏆
Race 10: No.5 MASSIVE ACTION ($6.30 with BoomBet)
The Frankie Lor-trained MASSIVE ACTION is in good touch this time in and with three starts under his belt now, he looks well placed here to rack-up another win today. Last start, the Reliable Man gelding came off a win over Tamara Blitz, here in a Class 3 Hcp when the very same horse turned the tables on him last start, leaving the six-year-old back in fourth place (where he carried 3.5kgs more that day). Lyle Hewitson was aboard for both rides and sticks with him today as well. Ideally drawn in gate two, he maps to be up on the speed again, and fitter for three runs back now, he should have just that little bit more strength in those legs to stave off the challenges today.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 7: No.2 FIERY DIAMOND ($5.10 with BoomBet)
Benno Yung saddles-up FIERY DIAMOND here and third-up today will take a power of beating. Last start, the American-bred galloper jumped from gate ten (of 14) and was wide through to the back straight before Jerry Chau was able to cross and find the fence where he took up the front running. He controlled the tempo to the turn where he had the field all off the bit. He looked home but was grabbed by a lightweight chance (carrying 7kgs less) right on the line. Already a winner when third-up and a three-time winner at the track, Chau sticks with him today and fitter for those two runs back, he looks to give another bold showing here. Food for thought, all three career wins have come on the all-weather-track.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 6: No.5 MAJESTIC STAR ($10.20 with BoomBet)
The Danny Shum-trained MAJESTIC STAR is third-up today and has every base covered to declare he is a genuine winning chance here at great odds. Last start, the I Am Invincible gelding was second-up and lumped 60kgs around Happy Valley in a Class 2 over 1200m where he finished unplaced, beaten four lengths on the line. The six-year-old is a ‘third-up specialist’ winning three of his five previous appearances and is a two-time winner here at the trip as well. James McDonald has his first ride on him today and getting all the favours from gate one, he looks well overs in this event.
