BEST BET 🏆
Race 5: No.5 CALL ME SUPER
Coffs Harbour galloper, CALL ME SUPER sees the Taree track for the first time today and looks well placed for back-to-back victories here. Last start, the Super One filly was fresh off a 14-week spell when she led from barrier to box in a Coffs Harbour Maiden over 800m. With Ray Stokes aboard, punters were well prepared for a first-up onslaught as they sent her out a white-hot $1.30 favourite and she didn’t disappoint. Stokes sticks with her today as she steps in grade and distance where she will strip fitter for that first-up effort. Ideally drawn in gate three, Stokes has the option of leading or taking a sit with plenty of early speed in this contest. Either way, she is on song and looks the one to beat here.
NEXT BEST 🥈
Race 6: No.11 LOW PROFILE
The Colt Prosser-trained LOW PROFILE is in career-best form this time in and at the weights, looks a serious contender for the main prize here. Last start, the Rebel Dane mare came off five-straight podium finishes when she just missed making six, grabbing fourth prize in a strong Class 3 Hcp over 1000m at Coffs Harbour. Drifting back to the tail soon after the start, she settled 10 lengths off the speed which ultimately cost her any chance of winning that day. She still ran home strongly and was beaten less than two lengths on the line. She drops sharply in grade today and after the claim carries just 56.5kgs here. Mollie Fitzgerald returns for this assignment and her resume boasts five rides on the mare for two wins and three minor placings which is a glowing record to date. Gate nine is the only concern here but as a track and distance winner already, she looks a solid each-way chance in this contest.
BEST VALUE 💰
Race 7: No.10 REGINA’S GIRL
Noel Mayfield-Smith saddles-up REGINA’S GIRL here who has found her mojo of late and looks well placed here for back-to-back victories. Last start, the Adelaide mare finally broke through for her first race victory when she beat home a 12-strong field, here over 1412m. Ray Spokes jumped aboard two starts back and finished second on her that day and last start pushed her to go one better as she crossed the line one length clear in the end. Spokes steers the ship again today as the mare draws well in gate five where she maps to settle better than mid-field with cover. If she can secure a clear run to the line , she looks an even chance of claiming another win and is well worth an each-way ticket today.
