RUCKMAN can go close in Race 6. The local trained galloper has had two starts at his home track for a win and a last start placing behind Showies Best Shot on January 2. In his recent run, the five-year-old settled back and produced the fastest last 200m. Wouldn’t mind seeing the son of O’Lonhro settle a little closer this time around from barrier 4 and his opposition does look easier this time around.

Race 3 No. 16 BONITA BON- ($6)

A number of scratchings in this race means the emergency, BONITA BON, sneaks into the field. The four-year-old should be ready to hit her straps third up and was solid when resuming at Moe with a 5th before sticking on ok at Geelong last time on a Heavy deck when 9th behind Some Sheila, going 3.9 lengths slower than standard benchmark, which is six lengths better than the next best last start figure of any runner. This looks to be a weaker Maiden and she can measure up.
