Race 5:  No.9  TATTLE  ($4.60 with bet365)

Trained by Mark Currie at Toowoomba, TATTLE sees the Warwick track for the first time today and fitter for two runs this time in, looks a serious player in this contest. Last start, the Spill The Beans mare was an easing favourite when she finished third in a Class 2 Hcp over 1300m on her home track. She led most of the way but found the jump from Maiden class a little too much, beaten home by two a little better on the day. Georgina Cartwright is the new pilot today and from gate three, maps to settle just behind the speed, enjoying the trail. Treated well at the weights here, she should get first crack at the leaders in the run home and with two runs behind her this preparation, she can give them something to catch.

Race 7:  No.5  PRIVATE BANKER  ($6.25 with Bet Right)

Having his first start for new trainer Mark Currie, PRIVATE BANKER is three starts into this campaign and should now be ready to win. Last start, the Capitalist gelding came off a minor placing at Doomben (in Class 2 company) when he found the Class 4 competition a little too rich at the Sunshine Coast, finishing mid-field in the 1600m event. Formerly with Desleigh Forster, the five-year-old drops in grade today and has Brodie Loy on board. He comes off a six-week let-up as he makes his Warwick debut here and should find this class a little easier. Currie takes the blinkers off and replaces them with winkers again for today’s contest. Watch for improvement from him here.

Race 4:  No.4  GYPSY TRICKS  ($21 with Ladbrokes)

Ipswich galloper, GYPSY TRICKS has his first start for new trainer Brad Smith today and on fresh legs (after a successful trial), could surprise here at big odds. Last start, the Per Incanto gelding finished just behind the money at Bairnsdale in a BM58 over the 1000m sprint. He then left the Mick Price camp and headed north and since arriving at the Brad Smith stables, he has trialled at Deagon over 650m and won that by almost 3 lengths with Luke Miller aboard. He won his maiden on debut at Yarra Glen so running on fresh legs shouldn’t deter his chances to day. Miller sticks with him after that successful trial and drawn in gate nine, he maps to settle near mid-field with cover. With a little luck in running, and a clear run to the line, he can give this a real shake at double-figure odds today.
