Lipizzaner is the obvious danger because his form reads like he belongs in the finish (3-53) and Ben Thompson is a meaningful Eagle Farm jockey, not a cameo. Lipizzaner also has placed on his only start at Eagle Farm, which is a neat data point without pretending it’s a pattern.
I’m against the older runners drawn to get back and chase, especially if this becomes a race where one slides across to control it from the first bend. If that happens, the light-weight runner who can take a position often wins it.
How I’d bet it: Each-way Ignatius. If the market is rude and he’s a backable price, I’m happy to step it up to a win bet, but the safer play is the place component with the weight edge.

Irreverent gets that nod. The form line is persistent without being weak (3-32227), and James Orman is the rider you want when you need timing rather than brute speed. Barrier 7 is workable, and this looks a race where a stalker can peel at the 450m and sustain rather than need a last-gasp dive.
For the danger, I keep coming back to Head Of The River. He’s been mixing it in similar grades (302244) and he’s already had one run at Eagle Farm. It wasn’t a placing, but he wasn’t disgraced either, and he draws 5 which is a sweet spot for a horse that wants a clean run into the race. Matthew Hoysted has enough Eagle Farm volume (34 runners) that you can take him seriously at the venue.
