Race 1: Gjd Security Mdn — 12:29, 1312m
The race practically asks you to start with the map, and that points me to State Of Boom (barrier 1, Pike on). He hasn’t set the world on fire yet (78), but the combination of the inside gate and a rider who wins more than a third of his Pinjarra rides is a big deal in a maiden where plenty will find a way to complicate their own run.

She comes through a profile that makes sense for this grade (354-3). That last-start third suggests she’s come back in the right headspace, and from gate 1 she should either hold the fence behind the speed or box-seat if they overdo it early. In these Pinjarra maidens, that kind of trip wins a lot of arguments.
The horse I fear most is Just Petty Cash (barrier 4, C Johnston-Porter) from the Meryl Hayley yard. Hayley wins often enough at this track to take seriously, and this mare’s form (4-2355) says she’s always around the money without being a moral. She’s had two runs at Pinjarra and has placed once. That’s not enough to call her a track horse, but it’s a tick that she handles the venue.

If they go faster than expected, he’s the one conserving ground while others get dragged wide. That’s a tactical advantage you can actually bet into.
The main danger is Eye Of The Sun (barrier 3). He’s 01, so the upside is obvious. The question is whether he gets the same sort of run as Force Field, because if he has to come around them, the fence horse usually gets first crack in this sort of race.
Blue Sparx (barrier 5) keeps running into the placings (33). If you’re playing trifectas, he’s the one I’d want onside because he keeps showing up, but I’m not building my day around a horse that keeps finding a couple better unless the price is generous.

Banker for multis: Force Field. If you’re taking one anchor, take the horse that can control his own outcome from the inside.
Each-way angle: Rocking In Vegas (Race 2) has placed in both Pinjarra runs. That’s not a huge sample, but it tells you he handles the place and turns up.
