Moe Racing Tips 13 August 2026 — can the track stats beat the maidens?
The most useful thing on the Moe card today is also the most dangerous: course stats. They’re a weapon when you’ve got depth, and a trap when you don’t. And this meeting leans hard to the latter. Plenty of these runners have either never seen Moe or they’ve only had a single look at it, which means you’re basically reading intent, race shape and who’s been knocking on the door rather than leaning on “track specialists”.
That said, a couple of patterns do jump off the page. There’s one trainer on the day who actually brings a proper Moe resume, a few jockeys who ride the place like they know where the winning post is, and a couple of maidens where the most consistent horse is staring you in the face if you’re willing to cop a short quote. That’s the spine of these Moe racing tips: keep it simple, back the runners whose form is trending the right way, and don’t overpay for “stats” that are really just one good day.
Five races, turf, and a mix of stamina maidens and sprint maidens where barriers matter. Let’s get into it.
Moe — the setup
Going info isn’t provided in the card, so you’re reading Moe as the usual: a fair country circuit where positioning still matters, especially when fields get big and they start fanning. With limited established course form across today’s fields, I’m weighting recent consistency and map a touch more than I normally would.
Limited course form across today’s runners — most of the horses who do have Moe figures have only one or two starts here, so treat it as context rather than a conclusion.

Race-by-race Moe predictions
Race 1: Cleaners World Mdn Plate — 13:00, 2242m
Ruskana is the one I want on side early, because the profile screams “ready” rather than “talented”. That form line of 5-08322 is exactly what you want in these staying maidens: she’s found the line twice in a row and she doesn’t need to reinvent herself to win, she just needs to reproduce. Barrier 4 also gives Jett Stanley the option to stay out of trouble and land in the first half, which matters over 2242m when races can turn into stop-start affairs.
The knock is that she’s not a course horse in the sense of having a stack of Moe runs, but she did place on her only start here. That’s enough to say she handles it, not enough to build a whole case around.
The danger is King Tagaloa from gate 1. He’s got the map to make life uncomfortable for the favourite style of runner in this sort of race, and if Noonan can control it and pinch cheap sectionals, the closers will need to be sharper than usual.
Staking: Win bet Ruskana. Small saver quinella with King Tagaloa if you’re playing multiples, because the inside draw can make this race ugly.
Race 2: Able Mdn Plate — 13:30, 1750m
Here’s the question you have to answer: does Bellabama finally get paid for being honest? I’m saying yes. The form of 3-54232 is about as reliable as you’ll find in a maiden, and drawing barrier 1 is a gift for a runner who keeps putting itself in the fight. J Mott is also one of the few riders on the day with a meaningful Moe sample and he wins half his rides here from just two, which is small, but the bigger point is he clearly rides the place well when he turns up.
The horse that can blow it up is Steal Away. He’s drawn wide (10), but he has placed on his only Moe visit, and his form (573924) says he’s right around the mark without having to improve lengths.
Staking: Bellabama win bet. If you want cover, take a small saver on Steal Away to win, because the map can get messy at 1750m and the wide runner can be the one sweeping into it.
Race 3: Ladbrokes Hosted Pots Mdn Plate — 14:00, 1312m
The market doesn’t help us here because odds weren’t available at publish time, so I’m leaning on the race shape and the obvious “next win” types. Lost The Plot is my pick. The form reads 062 and that’s a clean third-up progression, and barrier 3 gives D W Stackhouse the kind of cosy run you want in a big field where plenty will be posted deep or forced to snag right out of it. She’s also been to Moe once and ran second, which is a nice little tick without pretending it’s a track profile.
There’s a genuine decision to make around Novamira and the Waller yard, because she comes in off a second (form 2) and gets a feather weight as a three-year-old filly. The issue is the draw (13) and the fact a lot of these are unknown quantities. If they run along, she can be the one launching late; if they dawdle, she can be stranded.
For a blowout, Meritaten is the each-way type if you like a mare who keeps putting herself there (662) even if she only has one Moe run and it wasn’t a placing.
Staking: Each-way Lost The Plot. If the price is skinny, turn it into a win-only and keep your powder dry.
Race 4: Halls Plumbing Mdn Plate — 14:30, 1094m
This is the best betting race on the program because it’s got a clear, repeatable angle: Koko brings the right combination of current form and stable intent. That 2-5362 progression says she’s right in the finish most weeks, and she draws gate 7 which should let J Mott keep her out of traffic and roll into the race when it matters. The extra kicker is the trainer: M W Walker is 1 from 1 at Moe. That’s not a trend, it’s just a nice sign they’ve placed a horse to win when they’ve come here before.
If you want the danger that’s most likely to beat her rather than just run a place, it’s La Velocita. She’s been around the mark without winning (625558), but Stackhouse can give her a run from barrier 3 and she’ll be one of the few with a map that doesn’t require luck.
One to respect in exotics is Snitchy. He’s only had one Moe run and finished fourth, but that’s still a better guide than zero for some of these, and Nugent can put him in the right part of the track when the sprint goes on.
Staking: Win bet Koko. If you’re playing a small multi, this is your anchor.

Race 5: Cloud Chat (Bm56) — 15:00, 2242m
The contrast makes this race: Princess Painton brings the best current form line (9-42219) but carries a sticky draw (11), while Outdrive has the soft map (gate 2) and gets every chance to control his own fate. I’m siding with Outdrive because in these 2242m benchmarks, giving a horse a low-stress run often decides the race more than raw ability.
Outdrive’s recent form (0-14553) isn’t flashy, but it says he’s competitive at the level and he won’t need to find a new ceiling to be right there. Sam Kennedy from barrier 2 should land close enough that he’s not chasing the race from the 600m.
Princess Painton is the clear danger. Neindorf rides Moe as well as anyone on the card in terms of places, and if the pace is solid and they fan, she can be the one with the strongest last 200m.
A left-field place chance is Our Paramour from gate 3. He’s had one Moe run and placed, and that’s often enough for a grinder to keep going when others throw it away late.
Staking: Win bet Outdrive. Save on Princess Painton if she drifts to a price that compensates you for the gate.
The plays
If you’re keeping it tight today, you don’t need to spray across five races. Two bets and a multi gets the job done. My NAP is Koko in the 14:30, because she keeps turning up with the right figures and she lands in the part of the race that matters without needing luck. If she runs to her last couple, she wins one of these soon and this looks the right one.
The value play is Lost The Plot in the 14:00. Third-up improvement plus barrier 3 in a big maiden is exactly where prices often overreact to “unknowns” and forget the horse that’s already been doing it.
Your banker for multis is Bellabama at 13:30. She’s the most consistent profile in her race and gate 1 keeps her out of trouble.
If you want an each-way angle, stay with Lost The Plot rather than guessing in the opener, because that 062 pattern is what you pay for in maidens.
The course angle to remember next Moe meeting is simple: when Neindorf is aboard a live chance, you rarely die wondering. He rides plenty here and hits the frame often enough to keep following him when the map makes sense.
