Pinjarra Racing Tips 13 May 2026 — can Wolfe strike early?

Pinjarra Racing Tips 13 May 2026 — can Wolfe strike early?

There’s a nice little Pinjarra theme to lean on today: the horses with upside are stacked into the early races, and the stables that can place a young one properly should have a say before the day turns into the usual Pinjarra grind of tough maidens and awkward maps. I’m looking hard at the 12:29 opener as the best betting race on the card, because it’s the one with reliable recent form lines and at least a sprinkle of course evidence where it matters.

This set of Pinjarra racing tips is written for speed readers who still want the “why”. Four races on the turf, all over 1312m, which keeps the map and barriers in play all afternoon. Odds weren’t available at publish time, so this is a pure form and setup job, then you price it yourself when markets settle.

Pinjarra — the setup

All four races sit at 1312m on turf, so you’re basically playing the same game repeatedly: find the runner that can hold a spot from the gate without burning petrol, then has something left at the 400m when others start chasing.

Limited course form across today’s fields. Most runners have one or two starts here, so treat it as context rather than gospel.

Race-by-race

Race 1: Batteries N More (Rs0ly) — 12:29, 1312m

The contender here is Brave Dragon. He’s the only runner in this that brings both current form you can actually trust and a little bit of Pinjarra familiarity. He’s placed in both visits to the track, and won one of them, which isn’t enough to crown him anything, but it does tell you he handles the place and the assignment. The recent form string (5-0131) reads like a horse that found his level and started bullying them.

Barrier 7 isn’t a gift over this trip, but it’s workable. McGruddy can get him into a rhythm, and with 130lb he’ll need the run timed rather than dragged into a long chase.

The danger is Guarantor from gate 3 with Brad Parnham on. You don’t need to romanticise it, you just need to respect the map: soft draw, gun rider, and he’s trending the right way (289-31). If Brave Dragon spends any petrol early, Guarantor is the one who makes him pay late.

Staking: Win bet Brave Dragon. Small saver quinella with Guarantor if you’re playing exotics.

Race 2: Sound Telegraph Mdn — 13:04, 1312m

The question in the two-year-old maiden is simple: do you want the lightly raced runner with the perfect draw, or do you want to guess which debutant can run? I’ll take the one that’s already shown it can cope on race day. Is This Thing On gets that advantage, and gate 1 over 1312m at Pinjarra is exactly where you want an inexperienced horse. Holly Watson can hold a spot, save ground, and let it build rather than asking it to sprint, stop, and sprint again.

She’s A Splinter is the obvious threat because Pike climbs aboard and the filly has at least put a couple of runs together (8-92). From barrier 4 she lands right on the shoulder of the speed and Pike doesn’t need much luck from there.

I’m wary of going too hard at the debutants without prices. Morton has two in (Encroaching and Spirit Of Dan) and that stable can roll one forward and make it a proper education for the rest, but you’re still guessing on exposed ability.

Staking: Win bet Is This Thing On. If the market goes silly and she drifts, that’s when you step in harder.

Race 3: Tabtouch Share My Bet Mdn — 13:39, 1312m

This is the sort of maiden Pinjarra serves up to punish confidence: a mix of older battlers, a couple of lightly raced three-year-olds, and a stack of runners with no exposed upside. So I’m leaning on what I can actually read and place. My Danny Boy has the right profile (2-2) to get it done soon, and he’s the one runner here who’s consistently found the line without throwing in a shocker.

The knock is the draw. Gate 15 means Noske has to make a decision early. Go forward and risk being posted, or snag and need the breaks. Either way, he’s going to need a ride, and that’s why I won’t pretend this is a moral.

The danger is Bookends, simply because Pike has options from barrier 12 and the Williams yard doesn’t throw him on for sightseeing. With so many unknowns, the Pike factor matters more than it usually should.

Staking: Small win bet My Danny Boy only. If he’s short, it becomes a watch race.

Race 4: Statewide Turf Services Mdn — 14:14, 1312m

The market problem in this last maiden (even without seeing the market yet) is that plenty of these look like they’ve been given chances. I’d rather side with the runner who can take a position and has a rider who can make the right decision at the right time. Diamond Warrior draws gate 1 and gets Brad Parnham, and that combo alone gives him the cleanest path to a placing at worst. His form (72260-) isn’t pretty last start, but the earlier numbers say he can be thereabouts when things go his way.

Elite Enough is the danger. Morton places his horses to win, Fiore rides this track well, and gate 2 means she can stalk the same run Diamond Warrior gets. If Diamond Warrior is a touch one-paced, Elite Enough can be the one to peel off his back and out-finish him.

One to keep an eye on for value is Fearless Hoplites. You get Carbery, a soft draw (5), and the sort of profile that can improve sharply second up in a new prep. Not a hard push, just a note for when prices appear.

Staking: Each-way Diamond Warrior. If he gets backed like the best horse, you can simplify it to win only.

The plays

If you only bet one race at Pinjarra, I’d keep it simple and start early. Brave Dragon (Race 1, 12:29) brings the cleanest “today” profile on the card, and he’s already handled Pinjarra twice with a win and another placing. That’s enough local comfort to trust the run when the pressure goes on.

For a bit of value hunting, the best place to fish is the two-year-old maiden. Is This Thing On (Race 2, 13:04) gets the inside gate and has already shown it can compete, which is a big edge against debutants when the tempo changes mid-race.

The banker for multis is still Brave Dragon, because Race 3 and Race 4 have too many ways to go wrong. If you need an each-way anchor later, Diamond Warrior (Race 4) makes sense from gate 1 with Brad Parnham controlling the map.

Keep one repeatable course angle in mind: Pike rides Pinjarra like he owns it, hitting the frame two-thirds of the time here from a big sample, so when his mount has even a half-decent map, you respect it.

Next time you’re pricing a Pinjarra meeting, look for the riders who can hold a spot from awkward draws over this trip. The 1312m start keeps exposing the ones who can’t.
